Local Dating Websites for You

Have you ever been in love? Are you still in love now? Or perhaps you are the eternal seeker, ever hopeful that you will find that special somebody who will sweep you away with hearts and flowers… or simply love you for all that you are, so that you may do the same in return.

Local Dating Websites for You

Local Dating Websites for You

I admit that in the past I have been very scathing about the idea of love and romance. And I was very sceptical about dating websites when they began to surface. I soon learned the truth, however. Humans are made to live together, in whatever format works for the individual, couple or group. We need company. We need support. We need each other. What if you have searched your local area, however, and still you cannot find a romantic partner that reciprocates your affection? Well, you could try a West Midlands dating site, if you live in that part of the country.

Living in a city would bring ample opportunities to find love, you might think. But I know that it doesn’t always work out that way. You might not enjoy the cosmopolitan city centre nightlife, or the trendy social scenes where you are generally expected to meet someone. Perhaps you feel more comfortable in a quiet environment, or a specific interest group. Perhaps you identify as pagan, like me, and struggle to meet someone who shares you particular esoteric interests and beliefs. There are many city-based dating websites, like Glasgow dating, where you could find your soulmate, or at least a new friend to play with.

Dating websites for small island populations

And then we have people who live on small islands, dotting around the coast of the UK. How do they meet new people? I reckon there are only so many suitable romantic partners in these places, and those that do appear would find themselves inundated with potential boyfriends and girlfriends. In these places, you could turn to Isle of Wight dating and see who is available. Or, right at the other end of the UK, there are Single women in Shetland who are just waiting to be discovered, romanced and loved. Take a look, check out who is interested, and who is interesting, and see who you meet.

Finally, and without any surprise to my regular readers, I must remind you of those Naughty dating websites. We all have a naughty streak. Go on, try and deny it! I am not the sweet, innocent housewife that you might think, and neither are the potential dates you will find on these wonderful websites. We all have unique personalities, quirks, and even kinks, and I for one think we should embrace our wild nature, seek those who would compliment us, and throw caution to the wind a little more often. You cannot be a lover if you don’t allow yourself to be loved. Go get ‘em!

Introducing #VampirinaToys: they are Spooktacular!

Vampirina is the hot new Disney Junior TV show celebrating friendship and difference – with a spooktacular twist!

I had to review these toys. I mean come on, SpookyMrsGreen and the Spooktacular #VampirinaToys range? It’s a no-brainer. I also knew that my spooky daughters would love the toys as well, so when I was asked to join in with the Vampirina Twitter party on 28th Feb, I had to say yes. Today I share with you my review of the fabulous new toys that we received.

#ToyReview Disney Vampirina Spookylele Ukelele toy reviewed by SpookyMrsGreen.com mindful parenting and modern pagan lifestyle blog.

Introducing #VampirinaToys: they are Spooktacular!

The party box arrived while my daughters were at school, and when they returned home, they couldn’t wait to get stuck in and discover their goodies. We received a Vampirina Spookylele and gloves, which was immediately claimed by my younger daughter, aged 4 (nearly 5). This toy is awesome because it plays some funky music, it is a good, sturdy item, and the design is fun and colourful. The skull feature even has an opening mouth at the base of the spookylele, which we found very amusing to play with!

My elder daughter then shrieked with delight when she pulled out a huge box containing a Vampirina Bat-tastic talking Vee and Wolfie. This doll is quite big, and she is very cute in all her spooky style. Her dog, Wolfie, is also adorable. The talking Vee doll has feature bat wings that you can close up, and when you press the button on her necklace, her wings flirt open, light up, and she sings and talks. I was very impressed with the quality of the doll.

Cute purple car

Our third featured toy is Hauntley’s Mobile, which I believe is my favourite out of all of them. This fabulous purple car reminds me of the vehicle used by the Addam’s Family, but in a different colour of course. There are glittered accents, moving wing mirrors, and the back of the car opens up to create a fantastic drive-in movie theatre. The car comes with a small Vee figure that can sit behind the steering wheel, and she has a carton of popcorn and a table in the back of the car. The car also plays music and flashes its lights when you press the bat button on the bonnet.

Inside our party box we received everything that we need to host our Vampirina party, but you will have to join us on Twitter to find out what else we received. Use #VampirinaToys between 1pm and 3pm on 28th February to join in. There is a very interesting looking pass the parcel that I can’t wait to get into, we have an itinerary of games and activities themed around #VampirinaToys, and the goodie bags each contain colouring packs and a Rock n’ Ghoul Microphone that I’m sure will drive all the parents crazy before too long, although knowing my friends, they will be playing with the toys just as much as the children!

Impressed with Vampirina toys

Overall, I am very impressed with the #VampirinaToys range. We don’t have Sky TV at home, but my daughters both knew about the toys because they have seen them on YouTube. My girls wanted to make their own unboxing videos, but it was our first attempt, so they are a little rough and ready. Still, you have to start somewhere, and if there is one thing Vampirina teaches us, it’s that we should always give other people a chance before we judge them. Have a lovely half-term week, friends in the North… and happy back-to-school week for the rest of you!

Thank you to Flair toys and UKMumsTV for inviting us to join the party.

It’s a Slime Bath!

My daughters are obsessed with slime. They love it! They watch videos on YouTube that feature “Elsia and Annia” dolls, and in the these videos, the dolls play with slime.

My girls think it is wonderful. They have each bought alien slime eggs with their pocket money before now, and I was not impressed when their uncle bought some for them at Christmas. It soon got smeared all over their Nanny’s living room floor in the house she recently moved into. Whoops!

Our Slime Bath Experience at SpookyMrsGreen.com mindful parenting and modern pagan lifestyle blog. #MummyMonday
Our Slime Bath Experience

It’s a Slime Bath!

While I was out shopping recently, I found a packet of bath granules that turn your bath water into slime. I was with a friend at the time, we both laughed about it, and then she decided to let my buy the stuff to try out, before she tried it with her daughters. Yes, she has way more common sense than me! My girls didn’t seem too keen at first, but when it came to bath time, they wanted to try out the slime. It was awful! I mean, it did exactly what it said on the packet, but it was gross.

The bath water turned into icky, green slime, and our bathroom looked like the set of the original Ghostbusters movie. My daughters played for almost an hour in there, and then we had to shower them off to de-slime them. The next day it took me a good couple of hours to clean the bath properly, and I had to wash all the flannels and sponges that had been thrown in the slime. But you know what, they are children, they loved it, and it was great fun watching them giggling away and enjoying themselves in the slime bath. It certainly made for a much more interesting bath time!

Online Dating in Your Local Area

We are fast approaching the festival of love and romance known as Valentine’s Day, and perhaps you are still searching for that special someone. Maybe you are a more mature single person and would like to make friends with someone in your local area.

Online dating can be a useful tool for this, because there are many dating websites that have local links and specifically share details of people in the towns and cities where you live. You can find a variety of dating websites tailored to your town, city or county, depending on your travelling preferences and availability.

Online Dating in Your Local Area

Online Dating in Your Local Area

For the mature single person in the south of England, for example, you might like to search this Kent dating site to find your special someone. Maybe you live near London and work in the city, but you are struggling to fit in a social life and a bit of romance. There are single women in Watford just waiting to be found. And not just single women. Online dating websites do not discriminate, and they do provide opportunities for people of all gender, sexual and personal preferences to meet new friends and partners. If you are a man seeking a woman, she is out there. If you are a woman seeking a man, he is out there. We are all genuine, mature, independent people that want to meet others with similar interests and hobbies.

Do you live in the Midlands?

Do you live in the Midlands? If so, you could try Derbyshire dating, and your ideal partner could be out there, seeking you in return. I know that this part of the country is a little rural and perhaps has some isolated spots, but I am sure you can find somebody that lives nearby and wants to meet up. What about those of you that live in the wilds of Scotland, way up North? Never fear, we can find you a date! In fact, if you search on the Fife dating website, you could find your Valentine’s date that might mature into something deeper and long lasting.

I bet there are some of you out there that don’t want a deep and meaningful romantic relationship. You have needs, and you just want to have fun with a like-minded individual. Check out a naughty dating website, and I am sure you will meet your match.

Nothing sordid about online dating

There is nothing sordid about online dating. In fact, I have friends and relatives that have come out of long term relationships and gone on to find new love via the dating websites they joined. All you have to do is explore. These sites are very safe, well managed, and carefully curated to ensure that only the most genuine single people can register a profile. What are you waiting for? Get out there, get dating, and have some fun!

I recently received the Kandle by Ozeri II Book Light to review and I love it! Would definitely recommend it to others. I find it most useful for reading my paperback books in bed at night…

I have a medical condition that means I can be sensitive to bright light, but because this is adjustable, it works very well for me to read by. I Love the little velvet pouch that you store it in also.

Reiki Healing and Bereavement

It has been a challenging and emotional month. Not only did we enter 2018 with the usual societal fanfare of optimism, high hopes and big dreams, but in my family, we were coping with bereavement whilst preparing for a seventh birthday.

Oh, and the date is looming for my father-in-law to return home following four years in a rehabilitation centre – but that’s a whole other story. In this blog post I explore the nature of bereavement and how my reiki self-care practice helps me cope with loss of loved ones and changes in my life.

#WitchyWednesday Walking Between Worlds at SpookyMrsGreen.com mindful parenting and modern pagan lifestyle blog.
#WitchyWednesday Walking Between Worlds

Reiki Healing and Bereavement

It occurred to me that this month, my husband and I have been grieving for many different things. The main focus was the loss of my paternal grandad, who died shortly before Christmas and whose funeral we attended just three weeks ago. That in itself was difficult. I kept telling myself that he lived a long and happy life, that we were lucky to have him with us until well into our thirties, that we were prepared for his death. But you can never truly prepare to lose someone you love, can you? And I’m not just talking about physical death.

Back to the story of my in-laws: four years ago my strong-minded and forceful father-in-law collided with a horse box while cycling in the Staffordshire countryside. We never did establish exactly what happened. The police say it was his fault, but we will never know as the only witnesses were himself and the driver of the car and trailer. He almost died, spent a month in the hospital’s critical care department, and then made his way from ward to psychiatric unit, to a rehabilitation centre some fifty miles from home. Since then my mother-in-law has visited him regularly, taken him home for weekends, taken him away on holiday, and tried very hard to bring him back.

Accepting the loss of a loved one with brain injury

We have to accept that we have lost him. Yes, he is alive. The medical professionals literally performed miracles in saving his life. But he sustained severe brain trauma and now has an acquired brain injury. He cannot care for himself, and he cannot be left alone at all. He will need full-time care, which is expected to come from his wife and from self-funded private carers. So much for the relaxed retirement they had planned! My mother-in-law must continue to battle her own complex mental health issues while trying to care for my father-in-law, and I am left to offer support from a distance and try to help my husband work through the trauma of losing (and yet not losing) his dad.

Which is where my reiki healing therapy becomes a necessity. During the past month or so, I have given regular reiki healing treatments to my mother-in-law, in an effort to help calm her turbulent mind. We tried to do a little reiki on my father-in-law on a few occasions recently, but he didn’t like it and found the experience quite scary. I know that his old self would call it a load of “airy-fairy nonsense” so I won’t try and force it on him. He was always quick to joke and have a laugh, and he was the driving force behind so many of our previous adventures. I now focus my reiki healing on myself, on my husband, and on whichever family members request a treatment. It is essential to help us remain calm and able to care for those who need it.

#ProductReview: Prestige Flowers for Valentines Day

Late last week I received a beautiful gift of  Valentine’s flowers and chocolates from Prestige Flowers. The bouquet is a magnificent collection of red roses, with delightful green and gold foliage mixed in. The colour of these Valentine’s flowers is very deep, and very rich. They are a delight to observe.

I do love having fresh flowers in my home, especially now that I am trying to sell it. And they arrived just in time for my birthday, even better! See my review in the article below.

My Review

Along with the bouquet of flowers I received a box of chocolates that I was a little unsure about tasting, as I have to admit I wasn’t too keen on the praline chocolates I received in my Christmas hamper. I had nothing to worry about. These Valentine’s chocolates are delicious! Smooth and creamy milk chocolate, luxurious fruity centres, caramel, nuts, oh they make my mouth water now as I remember eating them! I definitely recommend the Valentine’s chocolates from Prestige Flowers.

Surprise Gift

And, finally, there was one more surprise in my box of goodies. Meet Harry (the reiki bear, as my daughters christened him). He is so cute, and very cuddly. I immediately had to pick him up and snuggle him in my arms, feeling a certain sense of comfort and security that only a teddy bear brings. You all know what I’m talking about, don’t you? All in all, I am really impressed with the Valentine’s flowers and chocolates gift that I received from Prestige Flowers. The prices are very reasonable, so you have no excuse to neglect sending a gift to the person (or people) that you love… I am already choosing the gift I want from my husband; sometimes he needs a little encouragement!

Single and Looking for Love

When did you last write a love letter? Oh, it has been a good few years for me, I can tell you! Funny how busy you get when you are having babies and dealing with family drama. But today we are not here to talk about me.

I want to talk about you. That is, I want to talk about you who is single and looking for love. I know you are out there, feeling a little lonely, needing someone to pass the time with. Don’t be shy. Step forward. I have some suggestions, and perhaps you will be writing your very own love letters (or should that be text messages) sooner than you think.

Love Around the World

Single and Looking for Love

I happen to know that the old county of Herefordshire is a very romantic place to live. What with the ancient capital town, the rolling hills, and the beautiful scenery, you couldn’t help but be inspired and feel the love in this place. Here is where you can search for single men in Hereford to fulfill your romantic fantasies.

Another romantic county is Derbyshire, close enough to the Midlands and a vibrant city, yet still with that lovely, old English country feel. I’m coming over all poetic at the thought! Anyway, you could look at Derbyshire dating, and see who crosses your radar for love. Moving further up the country, and heading into my favourite city, explore Manchester dating for a wide variety of personality types.

Still searching for your perfect date? Maybe we need to travel a little further, and make those love letters a little more romantic. Who said long distance romance was doomed to fail? I managed it for almost four years! Well, I offer you a chance at Jersey dating, and a little seaside romance for your fanciful heart. And to move even further away, for you Irish romantics out there (hello!), here is Belfast dating. I know someone who found her dream gentleman near Belfast, and their romance is still going strong. It is a beautiful story, but not mine to tell…

Which leaves me with one more suggestion, before I leave you for the weekend. I think you might like to try a little adult dating. Go on, treat yourself!

Looking for Love in 2018

We are well and truly settling into the new year, and people all over the UK are trying to work hard at their diets, or their job search, or whatever important project is their priority at this time.

For me that is house selling… and house hunting! I also have a few other projects in progress, but they are top secret.

Dating in the UK articles at SpookyMrsGreen.com mindful parenting and modern pagan lifestyle blog.
Dating in the UK

Looking for Love in 2018

But what if your new year’s resolution is dating? Or perhaps you are looking for love? Let’s face it, we all like a bit of company now and then, and most of us have perfectly natural human desires, needs and urges. Why not seek to sate that desire and find a partner in love, or at least lust.

If you are located in the South of England, try out this Devon dating site and see who you find. For single men in Sussex I have the ideal opportunity to find a partner. And take a look at Jersey dating for some fun on your island! My mind is filled with the vision of clifftop walks beside the sea, maybe a yachting date (you never know), or even a sneaky weekend away in a private holiday home or swanky hotel.

Moving further up the country, single women in Peterborough have plenty of potential partners to peruse. I have heard that Peterborough is an interesting town, and I’m sure you will find lots of interesting people on the dating website, just waiting to meet you.

Dating in Scotland

And, finally for now, let us move up to Scotland and take a look at Fife dating. I’m sure you will find many wild and wonderful love interests up there. It is surprising how many people live in smaller towns and more isolated communities that are looking for love. You never know who you might meet.

But wait, I have one more suggestion: No Strings Dating. Ha ha, now that got your attention, didn’t it?

So tell me, are you looking for love in 2018? Do share your stories about dating websites and the people you have met. I find it all fascinating, and I have more experience in the subject than you might think…Have a lovely weekend, folks.
