This poem has been brewing for some time I believe, hidden deep in my subconscious. It came out quite suddenly just last-night, and here I am compelled to share it. I welcome your response to my words…
The Beast Inside Your Head
I talk to you
But you’re not there,
You look beyond me
Away you stare
What do you see
Out there in front?
Do you see me?
Is there any point
Of all my tears
Excuses, and noise
I’m beaten, worn down,
I have no voice
The beast has won
Inside your head
It steals you away
And we are dead.

This is very moving. Thanks for sharing.
Is there a beasts reply? What would you hope it would say? What would it actually say?
I don’t know… It refuses to speak at present, because it knows that I refuse to give up on its host…
Great poem! Writing can be a kind of exorcism. These brain beasts are bad news, especially when they eat into sleeping time.

I love it when words suddenly pour out like that – it can be very cathartic, I think. Your poem is so powerful! x
Thank you, Maddy. I have a feeling there will be more like this to follow at odd times.
A hard hitting poem and message Catherine. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for taking the time to read it, Davy.
