Spooky Autumn Fashion Trends

1. Moody Hues and Rich Fabrics

Think deep purples, midnight blues, and blood reds, set against the backdrop of plush velvet or textured knits. Autumn is the time to ditch pastels and embrace the moody, gothic shades that evoke mystery and intrigue. Long velvet coats or capes are perfect for layering over chunky knit sweaters or delicate lace dresses, adding that extra touch of witchy elegance.

2. Vintage Gothic

With the rise of vintage-inspired trends, Gothic fashion is making a strong comeback. Think corsets, high collars, and lace gloves—perfect for that modern Victorian vampire look. Pair a vintage corset with skinny jeans or leather leggings for a blend of old-world charm and contemporary edge. Add chunky boots or heeled ankle boots to complete the ensemble.

3. Bold Graphic Tees for the Bold Spirit

No autumn wardrobe is complete without a statement tee, especially one that fits your spooky aesthetic. Whether you’re out hunting ghosts, attending a Halloween party, or simply lounging at home watching your favourite horror films, you need a shirt that speaks to your inner witch (or werewolf).

That’s where the NEW Spooky Spud Halloween Collection from my affiliate partner, Sassy Spud, comes in. These limited-edition unisex T-shirts are perfect for adding a touch of fun to your autumn attire, and they make excellent conversation starters for the season.

Find the rest of their spooky Halloween collection right here and stock up before the clock strikes midnight!

4. Dark Accessories

Autumn isn’t just about the clothes—it’s the accessories that complete the look. This season, aim for statement jewellery that adds a gothic twist. Oversized moon necklaces, pentagram earrings, and spiderweb brooches are must-haves. Don’t forget wide-brimmed witch hats and chunky scarves to stay warm as you prowl the streets under the harvest moon.

5. Bold Makeup and Nails

Complete your Halloween-ready look with bold, dark lipstick in shades of black, deep plum, or blood red. Pair it with smoky eyes, and don’t be afraid to experiment with glitter or metallics for that added edge. For nails, try long, pointy tips in dark hues, with accents of gold or silver to really make them pop.

Do Halloween in Style

Whether you’re dressing for a Halloween gathering, a haunted house tour, or just want to channel your inner spooky queen this season, these trends will ensure you do it in style. And don’t forget to check out the limited-edition collection from Sassy Spud —these shirts won’t last long!

Wishing you a hauntingly fashionable Halloween!

Best Books to Take on a Halloween Holiday

It’s finally happening! My family and I are jetting off to sunny Spain next week for our first family holiday abroad, and I cannot wait to relax by the hotel pool with a good book in hand. Of course, being a Halloween enthusiast and lover of all things spooky, I’ll be taking some thrilling reads with me to fit the season.

So, I thought I’d share my top picks for anyone else heading on a Halloween holiday. Whether you’re lounging by the pool or cosying up indoors, these books will keep you company during those tranquil holiday moments.

Halloween books of the Month for October from Waterstones affiliated with SpookyMrsGreen.com mindful parenting and modern pagan lifestyle blog.

Best Books to Take on a Halloween Holiday

1. Waterstones Books of the Month for October

First up, if you’re looking for the best new releases, check out the Waterstones Books of the Month for October. You’ll find something for every mood and taste, including gripping thrillers, haunting mysteries, and even some feel-good fiction if you need a break from all the spookiness. Waterstones has an excellent selection this month, and it’s a great place to start if you want something fresh and engaging.

2. Halloween-Themed Reads

If you’re like me and love to embrace the spirit of Halloween, why not take along some classic Gothic novels? Titles like “Dracula” by Bram Stoker or “Frankenstein” by Mary Shelley are timeless and perfect for the eerie autumn season. For something more modern, I recommend “Curse of the Reaper” by Brian McAuley or “The Serial Killer’s Son Takes a Wife” by Michael Libling, both guaranteed to send shivers down your spine.

3. Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy

For those who love romance with a supernatural twist, there’s nothing better than diving into an urban fantasy series. My Redcliffe Novels are, of course, perfect for this! Set in a quaint seaside town with a dark supernatural undercurrent, you’ll follow Jessica’s passionate and perilous journey as she becomes entangled with werewolves and vampires. If you haven’t yet, why not pick up “Bite of the Wolf (A Redcliffe Novel) Book 6” for a gripping holiday read? It’s available now and makes a fabulous companion by the pool.

4. Cosy Mysteries

Sometimes you need something lighter, but with enough intrigue to keep you hooked. Cosy mysteries are an excellent choice for holiday reading, especially if you want to stay in the Halloween spirit without too much intensity. Agatha Christie’s novels are always a favourite, and “Murder on the Orient Express” is the perfect whodunit for your travels. For a modern twist, “The Thursday Murder Club” by Richard Osman is another fantastic option.

Reflecting on Romance in the North and a Little Family Drama

Hi folks! Phew, I am just about recovered after attending Romance in the North at the Hilton Hotel in Leeds last weekend. It was a lovely day with a chilled vibe, and I’m going to tell  you all about it in today’s blog post.

After having only three hours’ sleep due to an incident outside our house the night before, my daughter and I made it to the event later than planned but we got there, we got set up, and we got stuck in. Read on to find out what happened.

Romantic image with pink love hearts and photos of paranormal author Catherine Green, Scottish second chance romance author Louise Murchie, and Catherine’s daughter Georgina at Romance in the North book signing event in Leeds, UK. Text reads, “Reflecting on Romance in the North and a Little Family Drama at SpookyMrsGreen.com. Hashtag Redcliffe Novels.”

A Drunk Driver Destroyed my Husband’s Car

I went to bed early the night before the event because I knew it would be a long day. Having got home late from a busy shift at my day job, I barely had time to eat my dinner and fall into bed before I was woken by a loud bang as a drunk driver crashed into my husband’s parked car on the street outside our house. He had left his car on the road so that he could park it in front of mine on our drive when I got home from work as he was up early for work himself on the Saturday morning (are you following me?). He fell asleep on the sofa, and I decided we should just leave his car where it was because it wasn’t worth moving for such a short time. We have left it on the road before with no problems. We learned a hard lesson that night!

Police Cars, a Transporter Lorry, Scared Children

The incident happened at around 11:20pm. Our younger daughter’s bedroom is at the front of the house, and she heard the impact when I did. It terrified her. Our older daughter thought it was a firework. I had to leave her to comfort her sister while I supported their dad as he dealt with the incident. Being neurodiverse, I knew this was really going to cause him stress. So, I had to be there to speak to the police and handle the situation. He coped well, actually, and his insurance company was amazing. He now has a hire car and an insurance payout so that we can go shopping for a replacement car at the weekend. I recommend Hastings Direct car insurance!

Shocking image of two cars that have crashed on a suburban street in Cheshire, England. Drunk driver crashed into a parked car. Police car parked behind with blue lights flashing. Debris on the street. Image of a white Vauxhall Corsa that has been in a crash. The front wing is destroyed on the driver’s side, the bumper is falling off, the lights are broken, and the driver’s door is dented. Text reads, “The damage caused when a drunk driver crashed into my husband’s parked car. My husband’s car was parked where that red car ended up. And this is the damage. The photo of the road was taken from our driveway.
This is what happened when a drunk driver crashed into my husband’s car.

We Finally Made it to Leeds

After filing an insurance claim online and grabbing a couple of hours’ sleep, I was up extra early to take my husband to work before driving approximately seventy miles to Leeds. I was the last author to arrive, but my table neighbours all pitched in to help set up and calm us down after the chaos, and we were ready to greet our visitors. The hotel was lovely, and room was chic but with an intimate energy that felt nice. It all felt calm and serene, which I definitely needed at that point!

It was great to meet new readers and introduce them to the Redcliffe novels series and my vampire hunter novels. I had compliments from some visitors that were pleased to see a Gothic author in their home city. Others were happy to find a paranormal author to satisfy their thirst for dark romance. I had a nice chat with the authors at the event, I did a little shopping, and I had time alone with my younger daughter who had accompanied me. Unfortunately, we were too tired to explore Leeds city centre at lunchtime, but we agreed that a return visit with the family is on our to-do list. There is some fascinating architecture in the buildings we could see from the hotel, and I want to explore their history and see if it inspires my muse.

One thing I love about attending these events is the chance to discover new books for my collection, and Romance in the North did not disappoint. I had a lovely chat with my table neighbour Kelly Lord and her husband, and I bought a short story anthology that she had collaborated on. I like the look of all of her books, but I couldn’t buy them all right then, as much as I would have loved to! So, I compromised and chose one to start me off. I’m enjoying the book so far and I will review it when it is finished. We also received a cute little “Peenie” squishy toy that Kelly makes as a hobby. These little toys are popping up (pun intended) at all the big book signing events to accompany the saucy books in which they feature and now I want to build a collection of those as well!

I Met my Author Friend

The highlight of my day was finally being able to meet my author friend Louise Murchie in real life. We have been friends on social media for several years, bonding over our children of similar ages, our experiences in parenthood and running a small business, and of course our books. I was delighted to get my hands on signed copies of her Tango Down books. I have read them on Kindle, and they were brilliant, and now I have the signed paperbacks to display on my bookshelves at home. They will be accompanying me to Spain on our upcoming family holiday!

Witchy Wednesday: 13 Halloween Myths and Their Spooky Origins

Welcome, my witchy friends! As the veil thins and we approach All Hallows’ Eve, let’s delve into the shadows and uncover the chilling truths behind some of Halloween’s most infamous myths.

From the curse of the raven to the headless horseman, ghosts wandering the earth and vampires lurking in the shadows, Halloween has a rich and spooky history. Beware, for these tales may send shivers down your spine!

Witchy Wednesday: 13 Halloween Myths and Their Spooky Origins at SpookyMrsGreen.com.

13 Halloween Myths

1. The Black Cat Curse

Black cats have long been associated with witches, believed to be their familiars or even witches transformed into feline form. This superstition stems from medieval Europe when anything linked to witchcraft was feared. Some say that if a black cat crosses your path, misfortune will follow. But fear not—modern witches know these creatures bring protection, not peril.

2. Witches’ Flying Broomsticks

The image of a witch flying on a broomstick is deeply ingrained in Halloween lore. This myth has roots in the Middle Ages, when women accused of witchcraft were thought to use brooms to fly to secret sabbaths. In reality, brooms were used in fertility rituals, symbolically sweeping the land for good harvests. The idea of flight likely came from “witches’ ointments,” which may have caused hallucinations, giving the impression of soaring through the night sky.

3. Jack-o’-Lanterns: Trapping Evil Spirits

Carving pumpkins into eerie faces is a beloved Halloween tradition, but its origins are dark. In Irish folklore, a man named Stingy Jack tricked the Devil and was condemned to wander the earth with only a burning coal inside a carved-out turnip to light his way. This tale spread to America, where pumpkins became the preferred vessel, and Jack-o’-Lanterns were believed to ward off evil spirits.

4. Full Moon Magic

A full moon on Halloween is a rare and mystical sight. Legend has it that when the full moon rises on this night, supernatural creatures gain more power—werewolves transform, witches cast stronger spells, and ghosts walk the earth. While we don’t have a full moon every Halloween, when it does happen, the energy is palpable.

5. Vampires and the Undead

The belief in vampires—creatures that rise from the grave to feed on the blood of the living—dates back to ancient times. In Europe, the plague’s devastation led people to dig up graves, sometimes finding bodies that appeared fresh, leading to fears of the undead. Today, vampires have transformed into seductive, immortal beings, but their roots remain steeped in dread and mystery.

6. Witches’ Halloween Gatherings

Witches are said to gather on Halloween night for their most powerful sabbath. This idea comes from the ancient festival of Samhain, when Celts believed the boundary between the living and the dead was blurred, allowing spirits to pass through. Witches would hold ceremonies to honour the dead, celebrate the end of the harvest, and cast protective spells for the coming winter.

7. Werewolves Under the Blood Moon

The myth of the werewolf—humans transforming into wolves under the full moon—is one of Halloween’s favourite creatures. This legend traces back to European folklore, where lycanthropy (the ability to transform into a wolf) was thought to be a curse. In some versions, this curse was passed down through bloodlines or inflicted by witches.

8. Ghosts and Spirits

On Halloween, the spirits of the dead are said to return to the world of the living. This belief comes from Samhain, the ancient Celtic festival where people left food and offerings to appease restless spirits. Today, the spooky vibe of Halloween still honours this connection, as we embrace ghost stories and haunted houses.

9. The Number 13: A Witch’s Dozen

The number 13 has long been considered unlucky, often associated with witches’ covens and dark magic. The superstition stems from early Christianity, where the number was linked to Judas, the 13th guest at the Last Supper. But for witches, 13 is a powerful and sacred number, representing the moon’s cycles and feminine energy.

10. The Headless Horseman

This terrifying figure, most famously immortalized in Washington Irving’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”, can be traced back to the Celtic myth of the Dullahan. The Dullahan was a headless rider who carried his own decapitated head and was said to appear as an omen of death. His presence was enough to send anyone who crossed his path into a state of panic.

11. The Haunted Mirror

In many cultures, mirrors are believed to be portals to the spirit world. On Halloween night, it is said that if you look into a mirror at midnight by candlelight, you might see the face of a ghost—or your future love. This superstition likely comes from the ancient practice of scrying, where witches and seers would use reflective surfaces to divine the future.

12. The Witching Hour

The witching hour, typically between 3 AM and 4 AM, is thought to be when supernatural beings are at their most powerful. The idea comes from folklore that the devil’s work was strongest in these hours, and witches were believed to perform their darkest rituals. While the term now adds a chill to late-night hours, it’s a reminder of our long-standing fear of the unknown.

13. The Curse of the Raven

Ravens have long been associated with death and misfortune, particularly in Norse and Celtic mythologies. These black birds are often seen as omens, believed to carry the souls of the dead or be messengers from the underworld. On Halloween, their haunting calls echo through the night, reminding us of the darkness that lurks just beyond the light of our bonfires.

Rich History behind Halloween

As the winds grow colder and the nights grow longer, these myths remind us of the rich history behind Halloween, a night where the world of the living and the dead collide. Whether you believe in the old tales or simply enjoy the thrill of the spooky season, there’s no denying the magic in the air. So, light your candles, draw your protective circles, and embrace the mystery of Halloween!

Until next time, my witchy friends, blessed be!

#BookReview: “The Witch’s Door: Oddities & Tales from the Esoteric to the Extreme” by Ryan Matthew Cohn & Regina Rossi

Hello folks, happy #MummyMonday! Today I bring you a book review for something macabre and fascinating. It’s also a memoir of the husband-and-wife team that share their passion for collecting unusual items, the story of how they met and married, and the people that helped them along the way in their respective careers.

Let us delve into a book review for “The Witch’s Door: Oddities & Tales from the Esoteric to the Extreme” by Ryan Matthew Cohn & Regina Rossi. Read my review to see if I recommend the book and where you can buy it.

My Review of “The Witch’s Door: Oddities & Tales from the Esoteric to the Extreme” by Ryan Matthew Cohn & Regina Rossi

I was a little disappointed to receive a PDF for this book to review rather than a physical copy, and because of that I have not viewed the photos in the book very well because they are black and white on my device, they are small, and I cannot see the detail clearly due to my vision challenges. Putting this aside, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the book! Being in the UK and having grown up in a sheltered environment, I hadn’t heard of the TV show that made Ryan Matthew Cohn famous in his circles, nor did I know about the TV show that he and Regina Rossi subsequently filmed their wedding with. It was interesting to read about that side of life, something I have never been exposed to.

I like to learn how people find their careers, and the collecting business is something I have only ever dreamed about doing. I grew up watching Antiques Roadshow on the BBC and wishing I could be a rich, posh person, with a big house full of treasures. But I’m not (yet!). It was nice to see how Ryan and Regina forged their careers independently, with a few chance meetings leading them to people that could help them grown and learn. They have clearly both worked hard to get where they are, and while it’s easy to feel jealous about their glamorous lifestyle, they laid bare in the book some harsh truths about how it negatively affects their personal life.

All things Anatomical, Macabre, Spooky and Weird

And then we come to the subject of the book, all things anatomical, macabre, spooky and weird. I would absolutely love to view everything that is described in the book, and those wax figures from Munich really captured my imagination! I am also fascinated with the exploded skulls and why they were made for purposes of medical research. It’s hard to think back to a time before computers when people had to physically explore the world in order to learn about it. Back then they made figures and models to replicate what they had studied and invited other medical students and academics to do the same using these models. Now they are being brought out of storage and put on display for us to marvel at.

This book is worth reading, not only for fans of the macabre, fans of weird subculture, and anyone who just doesn’t fit mainstream society, but those who are interested in antiques and collecting. Reading the book felt like I was visiting all the places that Ryan and Regina visited when they collected their artifacts and artwork. It was descriptive, immersive, and just a delight to read. Now I need to save money for a visit to the House of Wax museum in New York!

Tramond of Paris exploded skull on original base featured in “The Witch’s Door: Oddities & Tales from the Esoteric to the Extreme” by Ryan Matthew Cohn & Regina Rossi.

About the Book

For Ryan Matthew Cohn, artist, collector, and star of the Discovery Channel’s Oddities, it all started with a boyhood fascination with the skeletal system. For his wife and collaborator Regina Rossi, who had built her career in the fashion industry, it began with a Christmas wish for a blinged-out skull. Soon after meeting, Ryan and Regina discovered their shared appreciation for the incredible beauty in our bodies’ journey long after life deserts us and their passion for the world of strange and sometimes creepy objects.

In “The Witch’s Door: Oddities & Tales from the Esoteric to the Extreme,” Ryan Matthew Cohn and Regina Rossi, trendsetting tastemakers in artifact collecting and founders of the Oddities Flea Market, welcome fans of curiosities (and anyone simply curious) inside the bizarre business that brought them together and introduce some of the unusual stuff and eccentric people they’ve encountered while doing what they love. The result is an engaging mix of memoir, exposé, how-to guide, and curated tour, filled with jaw-dropping photographs and unbelievable-but-true stories of exploded skulls, wax penises, and lots more.

Enter at a high risk of spellbinding entertainment and come along on Ryan Matthew and Regina’s adventures in artifact hunting, gathering, assessing, haggling, collecting, and curating. You’ll discover:

  • How Ryan uncovered a treasure trove of Kapala skulls wrapped in a dead missionary’s underwear—and how Regina strolled through airport security, rocking a monkey skull necklace.
  • The ancient history, meticulous craft, and the key to telling a genuine shrunken head from a knock-off: pay close attention to the detail in the ear.
  • How a vast collection of anatomical wax antiques stashed in a basement in Munich made its way to Brooklyn’s celebrated House of Wax—after considerable care and shipping costs.
  • Why determining the provenance of any artifact or artwork is so important, if challenging, to avoid being scammed into investing in something stolen, illegally exported, or fake.
  • The work of established antiquarians, like Billy Leroy of Billy’s Antiques, and quirks of serious collectors, like Nick Parmesan, retired NYPD sergeant turned hoarder, who had valuable pieces—including an antique electric chair—buried under mounds of junk.
  • The incredible memento mori collection of art dealer Richard Harris—and how, rather than being morbid, collections of death masks and skulls can help us come to terms with our mortality.
  • Why collecting dolls can be rewarding and chilling—and evidence to support that two vintage Charlie McCarthy ventriloquist dummies in Ryan and Regina’s collection might be haunted.

The Witch’s Door also recounts Ryan and Regina’s engagement in the Catacombs of Paris, sealed with a ring tucked inside a skull, and a creepy yet sophisticated televised wedding (Mikie Save the Date on the FYI Channel). It celebrates the birth of their “baby,” the Oddities Flea Market, where glam meets Goth, and the selection of the best artists and collectors gather at events across the US. Oh, and Ryan and Regina delve into the mystery of the artifact that inspired their book’s title: an actual witch’s door, likely created in Salem and marked with a carving to keep evil spirits out.

Ryan and Regina offer the perfect collectible book for fans of Oddities and Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities.

Dark Romance and the Allure of Halloween Magic

As Halloween approaches, there’s a certain magic in the air that draws us closer to the supernatural, the dark, and the mysterious. It’s no wonder that dark romance novels are more popular than ever at this time of year. These books allow us to indulge in the forbidden, to walk with creatures of the night, and to explore love in its most dangerous, intoxicating forms.

Dark romance is the perfect companion for spooky season. These stories combine the thrill of danger with the intensity of passion, making us question our limits and fantasies. Whether it’s vampires, werewolves, witches, or other supernatural beings, we can lose ourselves in their world, feeling the rush of forbidden love, the tension between power and vulnerability, and the excitement of the unknown.

Dark Romance and the Allure of Halloween Magic

As an author of dark paranormal romance, I love weaving these elements into my own books. And what better time to immerse yourself in these stories than now, with the nights drawing in and Halloween just around the corner?

One of my favourite books for this season is “Love Kills (A Redcliffe Novel)” – book 2 in the Redcliffe series. This story plunges deeper into the dangerous world of paranormal Cornwall with Jessica Stone as she navigates her complicated relationships with a vampire, a werewolf, and her own blossoming powers as a witch.

In the spirit of Halloween, let me share one of my favourite excerpts from the book:

“Love Kills (A Redcliffe Novel)” Excerpt

I walked forward slowly, stepping over the rough ground delicately. Both men edged away from me warily and my smile widened. I enjoyed their fear. It strengthened me.

“You told me I was a witch,” I said to them, “you said I hold great power within. Well, you have finally unlocked that power.”

I drew myself up to my full height, standing straight and proud. “I am a snow tiger,” I declared, “And you, wolf, are my plaything.”

Raw Energy of Dark Romance

This moment encapsulates the raw energy of dark romance—the seductive pull of power, the thrill of fear, and the dangerous dance between predator and prey. Jessica’s transformation from a confused, uncertain woman into a powerful witch with a snow tiger animal familiar is both terrifying and exhilarating. Her relationship with the Redcliffe wolf pack grows ever more complex, with love, lust, and power intertwined in a dangerous web.

So, if you’re looking for a thrilling escape this Halloween season, why not dive into the Redcliffe novels and follow Jessica’s journey? You might just find yourself swept away by the shadows, where love kills—and yet, it also strengthens.

Happy Witchy Wednesday! Which dark romance novel will you be indulging in this spooky season? Let me know in the comments below!

Incorporating Modern Technology into Your Magical Practice

October is a magical month, full of spooky vibes, Samhain celebrations, and the deepening energy of autumn. As we prepare for the final harvest and the season of introspection, it’s a perfect time to consider how modern technology can support and enhance our magical practices at home.

Many of us still honour ancient traditions in our rituals, spells, and spiritual routines, but that doesn’t mean we can’t embrace modern conveniences to make life easier. In fact, I believe the fusion of old and new can create a more balanced and mindful practice!

Incorporating Modern Technology into Your Magical Practice

Here are a few ways you can incorporate technology into your magical routines this October, bringing the best of both worlds together:

1. Smart Lighting for Atmosphere

Creating the right atmosphere for your rituals and spells is important, and smart lighting can work wonders. Imagine setting your room to a dim, moody purple or deep red with a voice command or a tap on your phone. You can set the lights to change colour during different phases of your ritual, helping you shift energy as needed. Plus, automated lighting helps when you’re focusing on the task at hand without needing to interrupt the flow to adjust the lights manually.

2. Voice Assistants as Ritual Aids

Many of us already have smart speakers or voice assistants like Alexa or Google Home in our spaces. These devices can act as handy magical assistants. You can program your device to play meditative music, set reminders for spell work or rituals, or even recite affirmations or chants. Imagine saying, “Hey Alexa, set up my full moon altar playlist,” and being instantly transported into the perfect magical mood!

3. Robotic Cleaners for Sacred Space Maintenance

Maintaining a clean and clutter-free space is essential for clear energy flow in your magical practice. But let’s face it, keeping up with housework can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when life gets busy. This is where modern technology like robotic cleaners come in. You can use a smart vacuum cleaner to keep your sacred space fresh without lifting a finger, freeing up more time for your magical work.

This brings me to a fantastic deal from my affiliate partner Ecovacs UK. If you’re looking to add convenience to your household cleaning, check out their range of robotics designed to change the way you live and work. Their robotic cleaners offer precision and ease, helping you keep your home tidy so you can focus on your practice.

Here’s the best part—Ecovacs offers free shipping on orders over £39, a 30-day return policy, and a 2-year warranty. Plus, they have a price match guarantee, ensuring you get the best deal possible. If you’re a new customer, you can even sign up and earn 2500 points (£25 off) by joining the Ecovacs Club! It’s a perfect opportunity to make your home, and your magical practice, that much more effortless.

4. Apps for Spell Tracking and Moon Phases

There are now several fantastic apps designed specifically for witches and pagans. Apps like The Moon Calendar or Astro Matrix can help you track moon phases, retrogrades, and astrological events to enhance your spellwork. You can even use note-taking apps like Notion or Evernote to keep track of your spells, rituals, and manifestations, creating your own digital Book of Shadows that you can carry with you anywhere!

5. Digital Divination Tools

While nothing replaces the tactile feel of tarot cards or runes, digital tools like tarot apps or astrology software can be a great complement to your magical practice. These apps can give quick readings on the go, provide detailed astrological charts, or simply inspire your day with a daily card draw. Think of them as a modern twist to the ancient art of divination!

Embrace the Magic of Technology

Incorporating technology into your magical practice doesn’t mean abandoning tradition. Instead, it’s about finding ways to make your practice more accessible, efficient, and aligned with your lifestyle. From smart lighting to robotic cleaners, these tools can enhance the magical experience while allowing you to focus on what’s most important—your energy, intentions, and spiritual growth.

And don’t forget—if you’re in need of a little help around the house, Ecovacs robotic cleaners are there to make your life easier, leaving you more time to dedicate to your magical journey. Check out their website today to explore their range of products and take advantage of their incredible customer benefits: 30-day return policy, free shipping over £39, 2-year warranty, and price match guarantee.

Wishing you a magical October filled with tech-enhanced rituals and spooky vibes!

My Teenage Daughter Loves My Victorian Vampire Romance!

Hello, spooky friends, and happy #MummyMonday! Today I want to discuss what happened when I allowed my teenage daughter to read one of my adult novels. It’s a steamy, Gothic, Victorian vampire romance and I wasn’t ready to expose her to that. She told me that she would only read the book when I went to work, and I had no choice in the matter.

Read my blog post to see what she thought of my book and how I responded to her learning what really goes on inside her mother’s mind.

My Teenage Daughter Loves My Victorian Vampire Romance!

As a mother and an author, I always try to balance my personal and professional life. So, when my teenage daughter recently asked to read my Victorian vampire romance novel, “The Darkness of Love”, I hesitated at first due to the mature content. It’s a steamy, Gothic love story filled with lust, power, and intrigue. Naturally, I wasn’t sure if she was quite ready for that! But like most teenagers, she assured me that she’s “heard it all” from her school friends. I was curious but also cautious as she entered Year 9—how much do they know at that age? Well, it turns out I was underestimating her!

She devoured the book and loved it. To my surprise, she even went on to create her own version of Stockton Manor (the hauntingly grand estate featured in the novel) on Roblox. I was blown away by her creativity! It’s incredible to see how inspired she was by the world I’ve built, and it warmed my heart to see her diving into it in her own unique way.

My Daughters Support my Author Journey

But the best part? She’s now on a mission to help me sell “The Darkness of Love” to the world! She’s determined, full of energy, and so supportive of my work. It’s a special feeling to see my daughters not only appreciate what I do but also want to be a part of it. They’ve always been a huge part of my life, and now they’re becoming a part of my author journey too. Watching my teenager express such pride and enthusiasm for my books makes me feel even more confident as I continue building my author brand.

It’s a reminder that, even as they grow older and develop their own interests, our children will surprise us with how much they’re paying attention, how much they understand, and how deeply they connect with the things that matter to us. I’m so grateful to have their support as I keep sharing my paranormal novels with the world.

Are You Curious About the Book?

If you’re curious about the book that got my daughter so excited, you can check out “The Darkness of Love” here: The Darkness of Love by Catherine Green.

Here’s to more adventures with my little author team by my side!
