“Our former mistress liked to torture her wolves,” he said, “And Danny learned a lot from her. Some of it seemed to stick. He likes to use these implements when the mood takes him.”

I frowned.

“Danny rules by fear,” I said, “Surely they don’t stay in the pack if this is how he treats them?”

“It isn’t all bad, Jess,” Simon said quietly, “We like to play. Our bodies are strong and resilient, and sometimes we like to push the limits of what we can endure. It makes us stronger in battle.”

“But what about your minds?” I asked in wonder.

Simon smiled.

“Danny always makes it better afterwards,” he said, gazing past me at some memory, “You know that.”

Planning For Your Future: An A-Z Plan To Get You Where You Want To Be

There comes a moment—maybe in your twenties, maybe in your forties—when you realise that life doesn’t slow down so you can figure it all out. You look up and it’s March again, your birthday’s around the corner, and the version of yourself you imagined you’d become is still waiting in the wings.

Planning for your future sounds like something responsible people do, the ones who own filing cabinets and already know their pension provider. But here’s a truth that doesn’t get said enough: there’s no perfect time to start thinking seriously about your future. There’s just now.

And no, this isn’t about having all the answers. You won’t find a magic formula in the folds of a spreadsheet. What you will find, if you’re willing to sit with it, is a quiet kind of power in asking yourself what you really want. Not just what looks good on paper. Not what everyone else seems to be doing. The real stuff. That’s where this starts.

Via Pexels

Start With Clarity

Not the kind you force, but the kind that floats to the surface when you give yourself space. Go somewhere quiet and think. Picture a morning in your future life. What does it smell like? What kind of light is coming through the windows? Who, if anyone, is there with you? Are you rushing out the door with a flat white in hand, or stretching into a slow morning with nowhere to be? These aren’t idle fantasies. They’re coordinates. Markers on a map that only you can draw. Clarity doesn’t arrive with fanfare; it slips in like a friend who’s always known the way.

Know Where You’re Standing Before You Choose A Direction

You wouldn’t try to get to Edinburgh without checking where you are on the map. Same goes for life. Take stock. Not just the numbers in your bank account or the job title on your email signature. Think deeper. Who and how are you, really? When you lie awake at night, is it excitement or dread that keeps you up? Sometimes we build lives that look good from the outside but feel heavy on the inside. You deserve better than that. Start from where you are, not where you think you should be.

Financial Wellbeing Is Foundational, Not Optional

Money. It’s complicated. People grow up with all sorts of messages about it—that it’s rude to talk about, that having too much is greedy, that having too little is shameful. Forget all of that. What matters is that you understand your own relationship with money. Where it goes. Why it leaks. Whether you feel in control of it or like it’s a wild animal you’re barely keeping in the garden. Planning for your future means getting intentional. Not perfect. Not frugal to the point of misery. Just aware. Awake. You don’t have to have it all figured out, but ignoring it won’t get you where you want to be.

At some point, you might start thinking about where you want to live long term. Maybe you’re just browsing on Rightmove at 1am. Maybe you’re actually saving for a deposit. Either way, this is a good time to look into tips on buying a property, even if it still feels a bit grown-up and far off. The earlier you understand how mortgages work, what lenders are looking for, what kind of support is available to first-time buyers in the UK—the better equipped you’ll be when the moment comes.

Career Is More Than A Job—It’s Your Platform For Growth

There’s this idea that you pick a career like you pick a train. You get on at 22, you stay seated, and you get off at retirement. That might’ve worked for a previous generation, but let’s be honest: the tracks have changed. Entire industries are transforming or disappearing altogether. And that can be scary. But it can also be freeing. You don’t have to keep doing what you always did. You’re allowed to want more, or different, or less. You don’t have to prove anything to anyone. What matters is that your work, in whatever form it takes, isn’t slowly draining your life force. If it is, start looking at what needs to shift. You don’t need a five-year plan. You need a next step.

Think About Your Health Like It’s An Investment Portfolio

There are things you can coast on in life. Health isn’t one of them. You can ignore your body for a while and still function—until you can’t. One day you’ll wake up and realise how good it felt to feel good, and you’ll want that back. Future planning isn’t only about pensions and property. It’s about energy. Strength. Sanity. No one’s asking you to be a wellness influencer. Just to care enough to move your body a few times a week, go to your GP when something doesn’t feel right, and take your mental health seriously. Because one day, you’re going to need all of you. Not the exhausted, burned out version.

Your Time Is Your Most Limited Currency—Spend It Well

People will waste your time without even blinking. Jobs. Friends. Family. Your phone. If you don’t protect your time, it will be eaten alive by the urgent and the unimportant. So ask yourself: what’s actually worth the minutes you’ll never get back? You don’t have to be hyper-productive. But you do have to care. Because if you’re not choosing where your time goes, someone else is. Planning for the future isn’t just about what you’re doing next year. It’s also about whether your weeks feel like they belong to you.

Relationships Are Infrastructure, Not Decoration

The people in your life aren’t extras in your story. They’re the scaffolding. The ones who’ll help you rebuild when things fall apart. Or the ones who quietly sabotage you because they liked you better small. Take a hard look at your inner circle. Do they reflect who you’re becoming, or just who you’ve been? Are you seen, heard, supported—or just tolerated? It’s not about cutting people off for sport. It’s about knowing the difference between a soft place to land and a slow erosion of your self-worth. And that works both ways. Be the kind of person someone else is lucky to grow alongside.

Make Space For The Version Of You That Hasn’t Emerged Yet

You haven’t met all the parts of yourself yet. That might sound strange, but it’s true. Life has a way of revealing you to yourself in layers. Maybe the artist in you hasn’t had a chance to breathe. Maybe the parent. The activist. The expat. You don’t have to decide right now who you’ll be forever. But you do have to stay open. Leave room in your plans for surprise. That’s where all the best stuff hides.

Some of the richest, most meaningful chapters of your life will begin in discomfort. That awkward new job. The terrifying first date after a break-up. The city you move to without knowing anyone. Lean in. The future doesn’t arrive fully formed. It sneaks in the side door.

Embrace Uncertainty Like An Old Friend

The funny thing about the future is that it never unfolds exactly the way we expect it to. You can prepare, plan, map every detail, and then life will casually throw in a plot twist just to see how you handle it. And yet, uncertainty isn’t the villain here. It’s proof you’re alive. Proof that you’re still in motion.

When things don’t go to plan, it’s tempting to scrap everything or panic and start from scratch. But what if you saw those curveballs as invitations? Invitations to grow in ways you never considered, to build resilience, to find new versions of success that you didn’t know you wanted. Certainty might feel safe, but it rarely brings the kind of growth that changes you for the better.

So instead of trying to force everything into predictable shapes, leave room in your future for the unknown. Let it teach you. Let it surprise you. Make peace with not knowing, and you’ll find a deeper kind of confidence—the kind that doesn’t depend on guarantees.

Finally, Return To Your Plan Often—But Hold It Lightly

Make a plan. Write it down. Dream big. Break it into something that actually fits into your calendar. But don’t clutch it so tightly that you can’t adapt. Life has a habit of shaking things up just when you think you’ve got it sorted. Sometimes that detour you didn’t want becomes the best thing that ever happened to you.

So revisit your plan. Maybe every six months. See what’s still true. What’s changed. What you want now that you didn’t before. Planning for your future isn’t about controlling everything. It’s about staying in a relationship with your life.

You don’t need to have all the answers to begin. You don’t need five hundred thousand pounds in the bank or a perfect partner or a five-year roadmap that never veers off course. What you need is a willingness to start. To pay attention. To ask better questions. And to trust that future-you is shaped not by luck or accident, but by the choices you make today, even the tiny ones.

So go on. Open a blank page and ask yourself where you want to go. And then take one small, human step in that direction. You’ve got time. But not forever. And the good news? You don’t need forever. You just need now.

Ghost Hunter Diaries: Ghost Hunt at Newsham Park Hospital – Part 2

Hi spooky friends! I just got back from an awesome paranormal investigation at Newsham Park Hospital in Liverpool and I am buzzing!

This was a venue I have wanted to visit for a long time so when I got the invite, I snapped it up. It was an over 18s investigation, so my children had to stay at home, much to their dismay. But I’ve promised them some ghost hunting next weekend and we have events planned soon to keep them happy.

There was so much activity that I had to split my blog post into two parts. Read my second instalment of the ghost hunter diaries from Newsham Park Hospital.

The Naughty Boys’ Corridor

Later in the evening we were taken upstairs to the “Naughty Boys’ Corridor.” When the building was a Victorian orphanage, children were punished for bad behaviour by being shut into small cupboards built into the eaves of the building. They line a corridor approaching former wards or dormitories. While I didn’t feel any strong emotions in this space, I did not want to step inside those cupboards. One member of our group decided to sit in a cupboard and perform the Estes method of communication, listening to white noise through earphones and shouting out words or phrases that she heard. She experienced the sensation of something touching her arm during that experiment, and while she did that, we all sensed, saw and heard a child lurking in the dark space at the end of the corridor, further away from where we stood.

I captured a brilliant sound on a recording that clearly sounds like a child making a murmuring or whimpering sound, and I think everyone in our group heard it at the same time. You can see my videos on TikTok, Instagram or YouTube. I saw a child peeking out from behind a door but typically it happened after I put my camera away! Another member of our team saw movement, and after that, I thought I saw a child-like figure crawling on the floor, as though they were trying to escape without being seen, but it was very faint, and I can’t be sure. We then all watched a cat ball light up in a cupboard doorway and it appeared to roll from side to side. That was amazing!

Moving into the Boat Room and Beyond

Our last vigil of the evening covered a collection of upstairs rooms that were probably used as hospital wards and before that they would likely have been dormitories and living areas for the orphan children. The “boat room” is a huge space with arches built to make it look like we are in the upside-down hull of a boat. Now I don’t know the official history about why this room was built in such a way or what it was used for, but I do know that the orphanage was built to house the children of men that were lost at sea, so maybe that’s a connection. Either way, the room is beautiful to observe.

Unfortunately, we had no activity in the boat room, so we wandered around looking at smaller rooms and corridors, taking photos, asking for Spirit to communicate. We tried to stand in a former ward that has now been defaced when the building was used for a Halloween themed attraction and this room is now painted with upside down crosses and crude references to Satan. I did not like this at all, because I feel it is disrespectful to the fabric of the building. I am not religious, but I found this room in poor taste. And of course, we had no activity because I imagine that the ghosts do not like to spend time in that room either.

A Dilapidated Hospital Ward

We stood in another former ward where ceiling tiles have fallen so there is debris on the floor, the windows are drafty and mostly covered with boards where the glass has smashed (a feature throughout most of the building), and the whole area is dilapidated. There are metal bed frames around the room hinting at its former use, and scattered pieces of furniture. I stood in one corner of the room and felt as though the floor was uneven, but it wasn’t. I even asked a couple of other people to stand in the same spot and see if they felt the same. I think at that time there was an energy trying to communicate with me, but it was the early hours of the morning, and I was tired, so maybe I just couldn’t make the connection with them.

It was disappointing to get no obvious activity in the upstairs rooms of the hospital. I wonder if they are no longer occupied by previous residents, or maybe the spirits are transient and visit occasionally. The paranormal world is still so mysterious to us, hence why I am drawn to keep investigating and trying to make sense of life after death. There could also be the issue of human tiredness after a long and busy night. I am not as young as I used to be! The event lasted from 9pm until 3am so it was a long time to concentrate on ghost hunting.

Newsham Park Hospital Holds its Secrets

I will happily return to Newsham Park Hospital when I have the opportunity. There is so much of it still to explore, and I feel we could get some activity in the grounds outside the building on a warmer night. We were freezing at this event, despite wearing all our layers and thermal underwear! There is a separate school building that houses a swimming pool, so I’m told, but the building isn’t safe to enter unfortunately. I saw what looked like a chapel at one side of the hospital but I don’t know if we are able to enter that either.

What secrets does Newsham Park Hospital hold onto? I followed some creepy steps down into a series of storerooms at one point, only to be met by a closed door with a large, heavy-duty padlock on it. I wonder what we are not allowed to explore in this mysterious location. There was a room that could have been an office, and it has a lovely retro fireplace sitting amidst the debris. There is a balcony high on the wall above the galleried room that was used as the base room, but we could find no stairs leading to it. What is the story of that structure?

Ghost Hunt at Newsham Park Hospital

Our journey to Liverpool was straightforward as we are literally just down the motorway less than an hour’s drive away. It felt like a nice, local event for us compared to some of our more epic journeys in search of ghosts. As we approached the road where the hospital is located, we all began to feel jittery and excited, picking up energy from the location. It is in the city but not “within” the city if that makes sense, so the hospital feels isolated and quiet. It’s almost as though the human world has given it space to sit in quiet contemplation about everything that has happened there over the years. There is a lake in the grounds and lots of trees, so we didn’t hear much of the outside world during our investigation, apart from geese honking and flying about late at night.

The building looks beautiful from the outside, in dark stone and brick with large windows, ornate arches and decorative finials. The Victorians did have a flair for beautiful architecture, and I’m always drawn to Gothic buildings. Our base room was located on the first floor, so we had to climb a set of stone steps to reach the entrance to the building. There is no working lift that I’m aware of, just enough electricity to provide safety lights inside and security lights outside. Our event organisers closed and locked two sets of large, iron gates once we were safely within the grounds, so once we were in, we were not getting out until three o’clock in the morning when the event ended! Not that I wanted to leave. I felt strangely comfortable in that location.

A Presence in the Laundry Room

Our first vigil took place in the ground floor rooms of the hospital, what was once the laundry room and staff rooms. There are lots of empty spaces which I imagine would have been a hive of activity back in their day. Now there are a few pieces of old equipment left abandoned, and the remnants of props from a Scarefest event company that previously ran events at the location. They seemed at odds with the building, and I wasn’t too keen on how it had been defaced for entertainment purposes.

We spent some time in a locker room standing in the dark and asking for Spirit to make themselves seen or heard. I felt a presence around us, as though there were people observing from a safe distance. I think they wanted to see if they could trust us, or maybe if they even wanted to speak to us. Other members of our group felt the same presence, but no one saw anything obvious. I did see random flashes of light high up on the walls in three locations. At first, I thought they were reflections from something, but nobody had a torch or device lit up at the time, there was no residual light from outside as the window was covered with a black sheet, and the safety light was located in the hallway behind me. The lights were tiny flashes of yellow, like a reflection from headlights or a lamp, but we couldn’t debunk them. Later that night one of my friends saw something similar when we returned to the room, but we could not make sense of it.

Human Pendulum in the Cinema Room

The Cinema Room was a lovely place to visit. It’s a large room with spaces where the projectors would have been, a couple of store rooms, one that was packed to the brim with stacked chairs, old filing cabinets and bits of office furniture, and a few other, larger rooms. In the entrance corridor there was a large teddy bear sitting on the floor and a shelving unit with teddy bears and dolls sitting on it. I wonder if they were brought in for the child ghosts to play with. We also spotted a beautiful old Singer sewing machine sitting in a corridor, gathering dust.

As we stood in the Cinema Room, I felt myself beginning to sway, and I knew that someone wanted to communicate. Oddly enough, at around the same time, our lead investigator asked if anyone wanted to try the human pendulum experiment. It seemed I had already been chosen by Spirit! We then communicated with a female energy who confused us a little at first, but I think we got her story in the end. It can be difficult to decipher if we are speaking to one or more ghosts, and she told us there were at least twelve spirits in the room with us at that time.

The ghost told us that she had been committed to the asylum after she killed her younger brother. I think he was a baby from what I picked up psychically. When we asked if she felt sad about what she did, I felt a rush of emotion flood through me and my eyes welled up with tears. She was obviously remorseful for her actions. She was reluctant to tell us who committed her to the asylum, and she communicated that she was not allowed to talk about it. We think it was probably her parents.

Moving Objects at Newsham Park Hospital

There was a large hospital gurney in the Cinema Room, and our lead investigator asked if anyone wanted to try and make it move using energy. This is an experiment I have used for table tipping many times, and I find it fascinating, so I jumped right in there, along with my three friends. Nobody else wanted to do it, but they stood back and watched our attempt. The gurney was cable tied to a metal shelving unit near one wheel, and it was a heavy object to move, being an old, metal trolly with stiff wheels. I struggled to move it even a millimetre by myself, as did my friends. So we gave our energy to the room and asked Spirit to help us move it.

Almost immediately we felt the gurney vibrate as though there was something trying to move it. All of our phones were in flight mode so there was no electrical interference, and we had no cameras pointing at us. Suddenly, the gurney began to move. It was slowly pushed away from me, making my friend Christine step backwards to accommodate its movement. We all took turns to lift our hands up as the gurney moved so we knew we were not pushing it, and we only placed our fingertips lightly on the edge of the trolley to make the energetic connection. We were the conductors for the Spirit energy.

The trolly began to pick up speed and it was pushed completely to one side. I think if it wasn’t attached to the shelving unit it would have moved around the room! My friend Christine almost got squashed against some lockers, so we asked Spirit to move the gurney back into its original position. Spirit happily obliged, seeming to enjoy our interaction, and finally the gurney was back where it started and we stepped away feeling satisfied with our fun experiment.

A Busy Night of Ghost Hunting

Phew, that was just the first two vigils of the night! As you can see, we had a lot of activity and plenty of stories to tell. We didn’t even see most of the building because we simply didn’t have time to explore it all. Some parts of it are derelict and unsafe so we couldn’t visit those for obvious reasons. And other parts are closed off to the public although I don’t know why. Maybe there are some more sinister stories lurking behind these cheerful rooms?

Check back on Wednesday for part 2 of my Ghost Hunter Diaries at Nesham Park Hospital in Liverpool.

Witchy Wednesday: Ghost Hunting at Newsham Park Hospital

This Witchy Wednesday, I am buzzing with excitement as I prepare for a thrilling ghost hunt at the infamous Newsham Park Hospital in Liverpool. This eerie, abandoned building has long been on my paranormal bucket list, and I finally have the chance to explore its dark corridors and shadowy corners.

As a seasoned ghost hunter, I know that no two investigations are ever the same, and I am eager to see what spirits might reveal themselves to us during our visit.

Witchy Wednesday: Ghost Hunting at Newsham Park Hospital🏥🖤

Ghost Hunting at Newsham Park Hospital

Newsham Park Hospital is one of the most well-known haunted locations in England. With its long history as an orphanage, asylum, and later a hospital, the building has accumulated layers of energy over the years. Countless reports of ghostly figures, unexplained noises, and chilling encounters have intrigued paranormal enthusiasts for decades. This weekend, I hope to experience some of that supernatural activity first-hand. I will bring my usual investigative tools, including the Spirit Talker app, dowsing rods, and flashing cat balls, to see what kind of responses we might get.

However, while I am excited for the adventure ahead, this week has been particularly challenging for me. My chronic Dry Eye Syndrome has flared up, leaving me with painful inflammation that makes even the simplest tasks difficult. Anyone who has struggled with chronic eye discomfort will understand just how draining it can be. The constant irritation, sensitivity to light, and fatigue have been a real test of patience, especially as I try to juggle my daily responsibilities. But I am determined to recover enough to fully enjoy my ghost hunt this weekend!

Reiki is a Lifesaver

Thankfully, my Reiki self-care routine has been a lifesaver during this difficult time. Regular energy healing sessions help to soothe the discomfort and promote healing, and I have also been turning to my trusty aromatherapy oils for extra relief. Lavender and eucalyptus are my go-to essential oils for relaxation and pain management, and they have been working wonders in helping me stay grounded and focused. With the help of my holistic practices, I am doing my best to nurture my body and spirit, ensuring that I am in the best possible condition for the weekend.

So, as I count down the days until my visit to Newsham Park Hospital, I am embracing the balance between rest and preparation. I look forward to sharing my ghost hunting experiences with you all next week. Will we capture EVPs? Will we see shadow figures lurking in the darkness? Only time will tell!

Have you ever visited Newsham Park Hospital, or do you have any spooky ghost hunting experiences to share? Let me know in the comments!

Mummy Monday: A Ghostly Adventure at Hallam Mill

Hello, my fellow ghost enthusiasts! This Mummy Monday, I’m thrilled to share our latest family ghost hunt adventure at Hallam Mill in Stockport—a visit that left me both spooked and exhilarated.

Read my story of how I got pushed out of a room right in front of my daughters and check out the video footage on my TikTok page. The link is in the article!

Mummy Monday: A Ghostly Adventure at Hallam Mill

A Welcome Return

We were recently invited by the ever-curious Paranormal Penny Pinchers to return to the mysterious Hallam Mill, and of course, we couldn’t resist. The excitement began as my girls eagerly reunited with their new friends—the teenage children of dedicated paranormal investigators. Meanwhile, I enjoyed an engaging chat with the parents, swapping our favourite ghost hunting stories and haunted hotspots across the UK.

The Allure of the Forbidden Room

As the evening progressed, the investigation opened up to include the adults during a free exploration period. The team then introduced us to a particular room—currently off-limits to children because it hasn’t yet been thoroughly investigated. They suspect something nonhuman may be lurking in its depths, and naturally, I had to explore!

Entering the room, I experienced a peculiar sensation—a strange energy, much like a swirling vortex, filled the air. Although I didn’t see anything tangible, I could feel the presence of something unusual. As I prepared to leave (with my daughters waiting in the hallway beyond), an unexpected moment occurred: I stepped forward and tripped on the flat surface. It wasn’t just a clumsy misstep; it felt as if an unseen force nudged me toward the door, almost as if it was urging me to return to my children.

An Unsettling, Yet Intriguing Experience

I wasn’t frightened by the incident, but it was undeniably strange. The Paranormal Penny Pinchers later sent me some security footage capturing that exact moment—proof that I definitely didn’t simply trip over my own feet! You can catch a glimpse of this eerie push on my TikTok page.

Looking Ahead and Inviting Your Thoughts

I can’t wait for our next private investigation at Hallam Mill. Every visit brings a mix of wonder, a hint of danger, and plenty of questions. Speaking of questions, I’d love to hear from you: What are your thoughts on our ghostly encounter? Do you have any insights or historical titbits about Hallam Mill that might help corroborate this experience? I tend to avoid too much pre-research until I’ve set foot in a haunted location, so any shared knowledge is always welcome!

Until next time, keep your eyes open and your spirits high.

Happy ghost hunting,

SpookyMrsGreen

Free for All Friday: Remembering Cora, Our Adventurous Black Cat

This Free for All Friday, I want to take a moment to remember someone very special—our beautiful black cat, Cora.

Three years ago, we lost her far too soon, but her spirit still lingers in our hearts and our home.

Free for All Friday: Remembering Cora, Our Adventurous Black Cat 🌿🐾

Remembering Cora, Our Adventurous Black Cat

Cora was only eight months old when she left us, yet in that short time, she filled our lives with joy, mischief, and adventure. She had the most stunning green eyes, a sleek black coat, and a fearless curiosity about the world. She was always on the move, always exploring, and always up to something—whether it was chasing leaves in the wind or pouncing on her sister, Nora, in a playful sneak attack.

One of my last, happiest memories of Cora was on a mild February day. The sun was peeking through the clouds, the garden was damp with the promise of spring, and Cora was in her element. She climbed trees with ease, darted through the undergrowth like a tiny panther, and turned our garden into her own personal jungle. She was fearless, playful, and completely at home in nature. That was Cora—wild at heart, full of life, and always up for an adventure.

Her Loss Hit Us Hard

Her loss hit us hard, especially my daughter, who adored her. And Nora—our other cat—grieved for a long time, missing her sister’s companionship. Losing a pet is never easy, and though time softens the edges of grief, the love never fades.

Even now, I like to think that Cora is still with us in spirit. Perhaps she still roams the garden on warm days, climbing trees in the wind, watching over us with those bright green eyes.

So today, I honour Cora’s memory with love and gratitude. She may have only been with us for a short time, but she left a paw print on our hearts forever. 🌿🐾

5 Tips to Help You Take Charge of Your Finances

When it comes to your money, you should always know exactly where you’re at. If you ever want to work towards a goal, such as buying a house or investing money in something, you need to have a clear picture of your financial situation and control over where your money goes.

In this blog post, we’re going to show you exactly how you can take charge.

5 Tips to Help You Take Charge of Your Finances

1. Always Be Clear

First of all, you’re going to want to make sure that you have a clear view of your financial situation. If you want to take charge, you need to begin by knowing where you’re at! Working out how much money comes into the household and how much goes out is a good start. Then, you can also work out what you have in savings and what debt is owed. You are then best equipped to make decisions going forward.

2. Be in Control

At this point, you can then look to get a bit more control over your money. If you don’t always know where it goes each month, having more visibility can help. Here, setting a monthly budget that you can follow is a great help. You can look to do this manually or consider working with budgeting software or an app that can help you. You’ll then be able to have more control over your money and where it goes.

3. Tie Up Loose Ends

Next up, you’re going to want to make sure that you’re dealing with any issues that have been hanging over you. If there are things you need to pay off, try to look at prioritizing that first if you can. If you know that you have Motonovo PCP claims you’ve been meaning to do, make sure that you get things underway before the deadline. Here, it’s all about getting yourself organized so that you can get your finances to where you want them to be.

4. Set Intentions

From here, you can then look at setting more intentions for your financial situation. When you know where you’re at, you can start spending or saving in a way that will allow you to get to where you want to be. This is essentially the step that actually helps you to take control back over your finances.

5. Make Your Money Work for You

Lastly, you’re then going to want to take a look at ways to make your money work a little harder. It’s safe to say that you will always want to try and earn as much as you can. But this will often need to be done outside of your job. It’s not always easy to get a pay rise or a promotion when you want to. But that doesn’t mean your income needs to be fixed. Instead, you could look to make investments or get better savings rates to help you earn more. Likewise, you could invest in property or even invest in your own small business to look at adding more income into the pot.

Witchy Wednesday: Family Ghost Hunting in Middlewich

Ghost hunting has long been a favourite pastime for paranormal enthusiasts, but what happens when you take it up as a family? My daughters and I have been exploring the unseen world together, using modern ghost-hunting apps and traditional spiritual tools to see what spirits might want to communicate with us.

Our latest adventure has led us to some intriguing patterns right here in our hometown of Middlewich, Cheshire.

Our Ghost Hunting Journey

After attending our first family ghost hunt, we were inspired to bring the experience home. We downloaded the Spirit Talker app on our phones and tablets, curious to see if we could pick up any messages from spirits. Over time, we noticed that certain words and phrases kept repeating—especially when we were close to home. One particularly interesting phrase was “Are you an investigator?”, which my daughter received twice in different sessions!

Other messages, such as “I don’t mean to scare you” and “I will protect you,” made us wonder whether we had a friendly spirit looking out for us. The responses seemed to change when we left Middlewich, suggesting that whatever we were communicating with might be tied to the town rather than our haunted dolls or personal energy.

Middlewich’s Haunted History

Middlewich is a historic town with roots going back to Roman times, and it has its share of ghostly legends. Some of the notable local hauntings include:

  • Chadwick Fields – Mysterious voices, footsteps, and slamming doors have been reported.
  • Hannah’s Walk – A spectral presence is believed to linger by the canal, especially on foggy days.
  • Mill Lane – People often feel watched near the old mill weir.
  • Mystery Wood – Strange occurrences and unexplained noises have led to tales of restless spirits.

Could one of these spirits be reaching out to us through the Spirit Talker app? Or is there another unknown entity trying to make contact? These are questions we continue to explore.

Family-Friendly Ghost Hunting Tips

If your family is curious about the paranormal, here are some safe and fun ways to begin your own ghost-hunting adventures:

  • Start with Research – Learn about your local area’s history and any reported hauntings. Knowing the background can help you understand potential spiritual encounters.
  • Use Simple Equipment – You don’t need fancy ghost-hunting gear. Try apps like Spirit Talker, an EMF meter, or even just a notepad to document experiences.
  • Be Respectful – Whether you believe in ghosts or not, always approach investigations with a respectful attitude. Spirits, if present, deserve kindness and patience.
  • Test for Patterns – If you receive repeated words or phrases, take notes and see if they relate to a specific place or historical event.
  • Trust Your Instincts – If a location or message makes you uncomfortable, leave the area or end the session. Ghost hunting should be an enjoyable experience, not a frightening one.
  • Have Fun and Stay Safe – Always investigate with a buddy (or in our case, as a family!), bring a torch if exploring at night, and never trespass on private property.

Join the Conversation!

Our ghost-hunting journey is still unfolding, and we’re excited to continue exploring the paranormal world together. Have you ever had a ghostly encounter? Have you tried Spirit Talker or any other paranormal tools? Share your experiences in the comments or on social media—let’s talk ghosts!

Mummy Monday: Finding Time to Rest Amidst the Chaos

As a busy mum with a million things on my plate, switching off and truly relaxing feels like an impossible task. It’s half-term, and while I’ve managed to take some time off from my retail job to spend with my girls, there’s always something creative or work-related calling for my attention.

Even though I’m technically “off,” my freelance writing and the upcoming book launch never seem to take a break! Still, I’m trying my best to take a moment for rest. (It’s a work in progress!)

Finding Time to Rest Amidst the Chaos

But let’s talk about resting for a second. You know the kind of rest where you think you can finally kick back, watch some mindless TV, and enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon? Well, that was my plan… until my daughters decided it was tap shoe practice time—right in front of the TV. Ah yes, nothing says “peace and quiet” like the sound of clinking metal taps echoing around the room. And as much as I love their enthusiasm for their upcoming dance show, I’ll admit, there was a brief moment when I considered going back to work just for the sake of some actual quiet. But hey, a mum’s life is never boring, right? 😊

It’s all part of the juggle of being a mum with lots of creative projects on the go. Sometimes, you just have to laugh (or cry, depending on the day)! I’m determined to rest where I can, but with a busy schedule and so many exciting things in the pipeline, finding a moment of true peace is definitely a challenge.
