It’s Kiss A Ginger Day! But who is the Nation’s Favourite Redhead?

It’s official – golden globe winner Emma Stone has been crowned Britain’s best loved redhead, according to a new survey of Brits.

In celebration of Kiss a Ginger Day today (12th January) new research can reveal the UK’s favourite red headed celebrities, with American actor Stone, who scooped the best actress gong for Poor Things at the Golden Globes last weekend, taking the number one spot with a whopping 29 percent of the vote.

She was closely followed by fellow actor Nicole Kidman (21 percent) and Australian star Isla Fisher (18 percent).

UK born Stacy Dooley (17 percent) was also chosen by the 2,000 Britons polled as one of their favourite redheaded celebs, as well as actor Ewan McGregor (15 percent) and Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan (14 percent).
Also, to make the list of Britain’s favourite celebrity redheads were Doctor Who star Karen Gillan (14 percent), popstar Ed Sheeran (13 percent), actress Amy Adams (13 percent) and spice girl Geri Horner (12 percent).

Other notable homegrown talent who were chosen as the sexiest gingers were Tom Hiddleston (12%), Girls Aloud alumnae Nicola Roberts (12%), Damien Lewis (10 %) and singer Florence Welch (5%), also known by her stage name, Florence, and the Machine.

And it’s no surprise that three in ten Brits (29%) confess that they LOVE redheads, with over a third (36%) not afraid to admit that they would lock lips with a fiery redhead if they fancied them.

Harriet Scott, Founder of media company GingerComms, which commissioned the research said: “We wanted to take a look at which celebrity redheads are among the nation’s favourite, and were pleased to see plenty of Brits, including Ewan McGregor, Ed Sheeran, Geri Horner and Stacy Dooley were all included”.

And with 26 percent admitting that they find red hair to be attractive and sexy, almost a quarter (24 percent) of the Brits polled insist that fiery shades of ginger are becoming more fashionable.

Meanwhile one in ten even wish they were a redhead themselves.

#ProductReview Christmas-Opoly

Christmas might have passed but today I want to share my product review for a fun family game inspired by the classic Monopoly board game. Christmas-Opoly transports players into a winter wonderland, where the familiar streets of classic Monopoly are transformed into charming holiday-themed properties.

I recently had the opportunity to review this fantastic game with my family, and I’m thrilled to tell you all about it.

My Review of “Christmas-Opoly”

This game is so cute! The board design is colourful and cheerful with the emphasis on festive fun. You play it just like regular Monopoly, but everything has a Christmas theme. I especially like the lump of coal playing piece! We managed to play the game a few times during the festive season, but I know that it will become a firm family tradition in the years to come. My daughters are now in the “tween to teen” age bracket, making them the perfect age to start enjoying classic family board games. I think Christmas-Opoly will help them to learn about money management and property markets while still offering a spark of childlike fun and excitement.

We played Christmas-Opoly with my nine-year-old niece when she came to stay, and together with her cousins she thoroughly enjoyed our game night. She employed the “buy everything while you have the money” approach while my elder daughter was more cautious and spent her money sparingly. It was interesting to watch the dynamic of their game play and how it correlates with their personalities.

When we played the Christmas-Opoly board game with my husband, the energy became a lot more competitive! My in-laws joined us for family game night, making for a lively couple of hours where we tried to buy enough properties so that we could build, and my husband and I enjoyed some friendly rivalry as we negotiated potential sales to allow for building. We never quite reached that stage unfortunately, both as stubborn as each other, and in the end, I think we were beaten by one of our daughters. We do love family game night!

Setting Your Intentions

At this time of year, as the world slowly awakens from its holiday slumber, many of us find ourselves reflecting on the past year and setting intentions for the one ahead. It’s a season of resolutions, self-improvement, and hopeful anticipation for what lies ahead. For me, last year was a journey of hard work without many breaks. In 2024, the plan is to inject a dose of fun and embark on new adventures, although the specifics are still a delightful mystery.

Today, I turn to one of my favourite inspirational speakers, the late Louise Hay. I discovered her work many years ago, and she taught me about the power of affirmations, how to train my brain and improve my mindset, and how to make good things happen in my life.

Here is a quote that I return to regularly, and I want to share it with you:

“Life is an adventure, and the Universe is always on my side.” – Louise Hay.

These words encapsulate the essence of embracing life with open arms, acknowledging the mysteries that unfold, and trusting that the universe conspires for our well-being. In a world filled with uncertainties, it serves as a reminder that every twist and turn is part of a grand adventure.
