I let slip a couple of weeks ago that my family and I are moving to a new house. We finally sold our 2-bed terraced house, and had an offer accepted on a 3-bed semi-detached home with a huge garden and driveway. It’s a far cry from the tiny street we have lived on for the past 11 years, and now it seems to be moving further away. I really detest the bureaucracy that is solicitors and their paperwork. I know it is necessary, and the system is designed to protect homeowners, buyers and sellers. But it is so bloody frustrating!
I just want to exchange contracts and move house. Instead we have emails and letters going backwards and forwards, our home buyers survey threw up some queries, our buyers’ solicitors are demanding proof for various home improvements that we did ten years ago, blah blah blah. Can you tell I am grumpy about all of this? Ha! Oh well, my husband is trying to take the bulk of it away from me because he can see how much stress it is causing. And I am trying to motivate myself to pack up our belongings. To be continued…
