Good Morning and a very happy May Day my friends! Today signifies the season of Beltane, a time when we celebrate new beginnings, fertility, growth and positive energy.

The sun is shining, the weather is warmer, and we are emerging from an especially long and dark winter.

For the pagan community, Beltane is a very powerful fire festival. We celebrate the event by erecting and dancing around a maypole, jumping over bonfires, and generally celebrating the glorious beauty of life and community. People traditionally bake fresh bread, make special ales, and gather together for parties and rituals of joy and energy.

Beltane is an excellent time to honour your body in all its glory and beauty. If you are trying for a baby, now is the time to allow yourself or your partner to become pregnant. If you are already pregnant, take some time to focus on your baby as it grows inside your womb. Even without procreating, Beltane is a time to celebrate togetherness with your partner and loved ones. It doesn’t even have to be sexual. It is simply about being at one with another person, someone that you totally feel comfortable and happy with.

Celebrate Beltane in your own way

Aside from the sexual and fertile aspect of this fire festival, you can celebrate Beltane in other ways. If you are working on a project, whatever it may be, now is the time to see it through and watch it blossom. You could focus on your career development, finish some home improvements, or even complete those chores that have been outstanding for a while.
