#ProductReview: The Body Shop Vitamin C Skincare Range ☀

I was very excited to receive a selection of Vitamin C skincare products to review for Body Shop. I have previously used Vitamin E skincare and while it worked well for my sensitive skin, it doesn’t have much of a scent. The first thing I did was stick my nose in a pot of Vitamin C moisturising cream to get a whiff, and it smells gorgeous! It’s like summer in a face cream, perfect for the time of year.

What I received for Review:

New Glow Revealing Serum

“Enriched with bakuchiol, together with 10% natural-origin vitamin C, it’s our highest concentration ever. Our serum helps reduce the appearance of uneven pigmentationÂč, delivering 24hr hydration to reveal radiant-looking skin.”

I have tried a few different serums recently and this is one of my favourites. It feels refreshing and smells lovely, and it melts into my skin without feeling sticky or greasy.

Daily Glow Cleansing Polish

“Now with 92% natural-origin ingredients, our Daily Glow Cleansing Polish

gently buffs away dead skin cells to help reveal that radiance.”

The cleansing polish was interesting, and I wasn’t sure how best to apply it. I settled for using a washable cotton pad and smoothing the cleansing polish onto my face. It did feel a bit heavy for me, but then I have a medical condition that makes my facial nerves extra sensitive, so I’m sure it is fine for regular skin. I like the exfoliating element to this cleanser, but it did take a bit of time and a warm flannel to remove all the bits. It isn’t really for people who need a quick morning facial routine, but it is a nice, luxurious product.

Glow Boosting Moisturiser

Give dull and tired skin a little va-va-voom with our Vitamin C Glow-Boosting Moisturiser.

  • Daily glow-boosting moisturiser
  • For all skin types, including sensitive skin
  • 24H hydration
  • Leaves skin feeling smoother and noticeably softer
  • Made with 96% natural origin ingredients, including camu camu berry extract
  • Certified by The Vegan Society
  • Dermatologically tested

This is my favourite product out of the three that I sampled. The moisturiser is lightweight, it smells like summer, and it left my skin feeling refreshed and revitalised. I would use this on its own, but I can also appreciate the importance of using all three products together for a thorough daily facial cleanse. 5* for this one from me!

Watch my review video on Instagram.

What is Bakuchiol?

This plant-based antioxidant is a key ingredient in the Vitamin C skincare range and is suitable for most skin types. I am always dubious about changing my facial skincare because of my super-sensitive skin, but I have been using Body Shop products for most of my life and I trust that they work for me.

My Review of “The Women’s Simple Guide to Investing”

I LOVE this book! It’s a quick read, you can dip in and out any time, and it simplifies a process that I was never taught as a child or young adult, and I feel has impacted negatively on my financial status all my life. Now I know what I need to do, and what I am capable of doing! I’ve been toying with the idea of investing some savings recently, and while I only have a small amount available, it seems a good idea based on research I’ve done. I always believed that you had to be an investment banker or a finance professional, someone super-intelligent with a good education behind them to create this kind of passive income. But that is completely false, as I realise now I’ve reached middle-age. Anyone can invest at any time in their lives. We just need to be confident in our decisions and fully aware of the risks. If you are like me, ready to improve your finances but lacking time to add more day jobs to your repertoire, read this book and see what it inspires you to achieve.

Get the book

I received a copy of this book to review, but you can get your book here. It’s a good investment!

Sex Tips For Your Zodiac Sign

We are officially in Gemini season and while many may be asking how to cleanse their agates, leading U.K. OnlyFans model, Belle Grace is sharing her sex tips for your zodiac sign!

Sex Tips for Your Zodiac Sign with SpookyMrsGreen.com pagan lifestyle blog.
Sex Tips for Your Zodiac Sign

Sex Tips For Your Zodiac Sign by: Belle Grace

ARIES | March 21 – April 19

As the first sign of the Zodiac, Aries are confident and bold! Take a risk in the bedroom and try something new to ignite the passion. A new red, lace lingerie set will get your partner’s blood pumping as you set the mood with a strip-tease!

TAURUS | April 20 – May 20

Ruled by Venus, Taurus signs are governed by love, beauty
and money. Incorporating essential and hot massage oils to the bedroom will give you the serene setting you need to connect with your partner on a deeper level.

GEMINI | May 21 – June 21

Playful and intellectually curious, Geminis are the social butterflies of the Zodiac! Known to express their emotions externally, Gemini signs should integrate “dirty” talk into their intimate moments. Don’t be scared to tell your partner exactly what you’re looking for and how it makes you feel.

CANCER | June 22 – July 22

This crab sign is best known for their deeply intuitive and sentimental emotions. Looking for a connection that goes beyond words, Cancers are looking to be reassured in the bedroom through the power of touch. Utilizing spooning positions with your partner (spooning, sporking, reverse scoop or the seated spoon) will provide that intimacy you desire from your significant other(s).

LEO | July 23 – August 22

One of the most spirited signs, Leos are the kings and queens of the celestial jungle. As natural leaders with creative and romantic drive, there is only one thing to do in the bedroom
take charge! While taking control may be scary to some, an easy way to lead is by being on top. If you and your partner(s) are into foreplay, incorporate practices such as oral where you can please (and tease) your partner(s) at your own pace!

VIRGO | August 23 – September 22

Ruled by planet Mercury, Virgo signs are governed by communication and intellect. Known for their independence and attention to details, Virgos are looking to get the job done
even with their partner(s). Only 18.4% of women orgasm from vaginal sex, so to ensure both parties are getting their happy endings, Virgos should incorporate self play into those intimate moments. Both you and your partner(s) will enjoy watching you incorporate your favourite vibrator, oils, and toys into your routine.

LIBRA | September 23 – October 23

Libra signs are constantly on the search for balance. With a tendency to please those around them, foreplay is a great option for Zodiac signs to test that balance in the bedroom, while still ensuring they take care of their partner(s). While oral foreplay may be the obvious first move, you and your partner(s) can also incorporate massages, teasing kisses, and toys such as blind folds, nipple clamps, or vibrators.

SCORPIO | October 24 – November 21

Scorpios are famously discreet – with a tendency to be fearless, bold and passionate! These characteristics pair perfectly with a bit of
sensory deprivation? Don’t be scared – the best way to play with your senses is by using a blindfold! Once your partner(s), or you, are blindfolded, use your fingertips, lips, and tongue to tease your partner(s). With the lack of sight, focus your attention on the whole body including the neck, inner thighs, and ear lobes.

SAGITTARIUS | November 22 – December 21

As the final fire sign of the Zodiac, Sagittarius’ are unlike any other. With a dynamic blend of passion, adaptability, and flexibility (in life
and maybe the bedroom, too), Sagittarius signs are always on the search for something new and exciting; they are the perfect partner for your next bedroom theatre act, so get your role-play faces on! Because this sign is ready for anything, they can really let themselves experiment with new scenarios and partner dynamics.

CAPRICORN | December 22 – January 19

Hard working and practical, those born between Dec. 22nd and Jan.19th may see sex as a task and want to put in the effort to please their partner(s). Communicating with your partner(s) is key in learning what they enjoy in bed. When in doubt, classic positions such as missionary and “doggy-style” are a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

AQUARIUS | January 20 – February 18

Although thought to be a water sign, this final air sign is driven by intellectual connection and passion. Aquarius’ are best to be stimulated mentally and are not necessarily looking for a heavy physical turn on. Pillow talk is a great way to get your partner(s) in the mood and ready for a more intimate moment together.

PISCES | February 19 – March 20

Pisces is symbolized by two fish swimming in opposite directions. This image represents the division of the sign’s attention between fantasy and reality. Often living their lives through rose coloured glasses, with an out-of-this world view, Pisces’ are looking for that “perfect” night together. Set the mood! Enjoying your favourite meal, Usher playlist, candles and rose petals are your best bet for the perfect night in.

How To Give Kids Direction In Life

It’s strange that society expects kids to decide on their future path in life when they are around twelve to fifteen years old. Schools and teachers ask them to make big, life-changing choices about the type of education they want, and ultimately, the careers they will pursue. A snap decision at age thirteen can determine how forty years of working life will unfold.

Parents, though, don’t always consider these issues in-depth. And they can find it hard to give their kids direction. After all, children themselves don’t always know what they want to do. How could they? They have no experience in the job market or adult life. They might have certain notions in their mind about what they would like to do, but doing the role is outside of their experience (and will continue to be until they get work).

So what’s the solution here? Let’s take a look at some ideas.

Find Out What Kind Of Work Suits Your Child’s Personality

Once a child gets to the age of twelve to fifteen, their personalities are well on their way to being fully formed. Kids begin to exhibit certain archetypes, or ways of approaching the world, which then correlates to the kind of jobs they want to do in the future.

For this reason, it’s a good idea to get your child to do a personality test. You can then find out what sort of roles are best suited to their fundamental personality structure. Then you can help them plan out their education to get there. If you don’t, they could be flying blind and wind up with a job or career they don’t like.

Put Them On Career-Specific Courses

Most schools don’t offer career-specific courses. History class, for instance, doesn’t have much relevance to the workplace.

However, you can give them a flavour of what certain jobs will be like by putting them on summer courses. These short programs introduce children to market-relevant subject matter, such as law, medicine, and business. Professionals who work in these industries often teach kids, and there may be practical assignments. This way, children can get a flavour of the type of work that they might be doing in ten years’ time, once they qualify.

Of course, you’ll want to make sure that you manage expectations. Working is not the same as learning. But you can give them a general sense of what to expect, and see if they naturally like the task at hand.

Give Them A Mission

Lastly, parents should focus on developing their children’s mission in life. Kids need to feel like they are working towards some project, not just going through the motions of getting an education.

A mission is a statement that describes something transformative that the child wants to do in the world. It doesn’t need to be big, though that helps. It just needs to be a reason for getting out of bed in the morning that doesn’t involve money. It could be making people healthy, creating something new, or being the best at something.

How To Be Supportive When Someone Is Grieving

As we all go through these terrible times, it can be difficult to console loved ones who are hurting, grieving, and experiencing loss.

It might be tough to know what to do or say when someone is grieving. People who are grieving go through a wide range of painful feelings, including sadness, guilt, rage, and depression. Sometimes individuals are hesitant to offer their assistance to someone who is feeling alienated and alone in their grief. Take care not to let your discomfort prevent you from offering.

Here are a few suggestions:

  • Do not let your fear of doing anything wrong prevent you from contacting them.
  • Inform them that you’ve come to listen to them.
  • Understand that everyone grieves in their own unique way.
  • Maintain your support even after the funeral.
  • It Is Critical To Understand The Grieving Process

Understanding sorrow and its recovery will allow you to better support others who are in mourning. There is no such thing as the incorrect or proper way to grieve. Extreme emotions and conduct are frequently related to mourning. Because everyone grieves differently, there is no standard time for mourning, and some people do not mourn immediately.

Understanding What To Say

People are continually having difficulty with this. Recognizing what to say, it is critical to listen more than talk. Grieving people have various views about what they want to hear, and one approach to help is to simply listen and let them speak when they are ready. As a result, nothing you say will make a difference. Allow them to talk about the deceased if they want to, but don’t force them or define how they should feel. Remember:

  • Your concern and sympathy are much appreciated.
  • Ask them how they are feeling.
  • Be sensitive to their emotions.
  • Communicate honestly.
  • Don’t be frightened to sit quietly.
  • Donate your time.

Maintain Contact and Make Yourself Available

You might not know what your bereaved friends require because they prefer to be alone. Some people appreciate text messages and e-mails, while others may want more attention. One thing is certain: do not forget about them at this trying time! You may be at a loss for words or actions when a loved one’s father passes away. It’s all right! A tiny act of kindness and encouragement can go a long way.

Allow your buddy to begin mourning by assuring them that you are there for them and will listen without judgement. You could advise that they download an app for self-care as needed to offer her space to heal. Give them your time whenever they are in need.

Another approach to being a friend is to provide funeral aid. You can let the funeral directors conduct the memorial services so they don’t have to deal with too much. It could be a good idea to have a look for flowers and then show your friend what you have found, this way they won’t get too overwhelmed. Just make sure you check with them first that they are ok with you doing this, some people may see it as something very personal.

Giving Advice Is A Bad Idea

When a friend needs your help, all you have to do is listen. You can reassure them that they are not alone or that no one appreciates what they are going through by checking in with them. Instead of providing ideas that would frustrate your friend, empathise with him. Relax them and assist them in calming down.

If you have suffered a loss, the most important thing you can do is listen, be present, and share your story if you have one. Some pals may require a listening ear or simply someone to vent to. You may accompany them to a funeral or wake, listen to them when they need someone to talk to and provide specialised support.

Assistance With Practical Issues

Those who are bereaved may find it difficult to seek assistance because they do not want to attract attention or become burdens to others. To provide practical aid, you may go grocery shopping or vacuum. Even offering to handle upsetting duties like shopping for funeral attire or helping to look at flat grave markers for cemeteries could be extremely beneficial. Offering a few options rather than forcing them to search around could make the encounter less stressful.

A person in grief can benefit from a lot of practical help. It would be extremely helpful if you could:

  • Shopping for groceries
  • Running errands
  • Deliver a dinner or other necessities
  • Assist in funeral planning.
  • While at home, take calls.
  • Help with insurance forms or bills.
  • As part of domestic tasks, clean or do laundry.
  • Keep an eye on their children or fetch them up from school
  • Drive them around to complete errands.
  • Looking after pets
  • Take a stroll

Allow Them To Speak When They Are Ready

Try to create an environment in which they can feel safe and express their emotions. They may feel a variety of emotions, some of which may be unexpected, such as rage or relief, especially if the individual was in pain. Some people who are dealing with sadness alternate between feelings, grieving and moving on with their life. Some people may wish to move on and get on with their lives as soon as possible to deal with the sadness they are experiencing.

Be Patient

The person may have several practical things to sort out in the days, weeks, and months following the death. This is the period when most people make themselves available for assistance. However, grief has no time limit, and your friends or relatives may not be ready to grieve about it for months, if not years. It’s a good idea to keep track of important dates like birthdays and anniversaries, as these could be trigger days.

We hope this brief guidance assists you in offering assistance to someone you care about who is grieving. Even if you don’t feel like you’re helping, simply being there for them can be beneficial. Can you provide any other advice? Please share yours in the comments section.

Tips To Help You Spend More Quality Time With Your Kids

Ever felt like you don’t spend enough time with your children? Perhaps you’re always working due to the demanding job you have, or maybe you don’t plan ahead to the future enough which means you’re always missing opportunities to have fun with your kids.

If you think that you’re missing out on some quality time with your family, then why not consider some of the following tips?

Reserve some time in your schedule for your kids

If you aren’t already doing it, try and reserve some time in your schedule to hang out with your kids. This doesn’t take long to do either. Perhaps you schedule some time to play with your kids once they come home from school, or maybe you plan a bedtime story with them at night. The goal here is to try and organise your time a little better so that you have more opportunities to bond with your child.

However, we know that this isn’t possible for everyone. Some parents just don’t get to see their children very often unless it’s the weekend or a bank holiday. Perhaps they just don’t have enough hours in the day when they’re free, or maybe they’re so exhausted from work that they can’t put much effort into hanging out with their children.

If this is the case for you, then we’d suggest putting some notes around to let your child know that you’re still thinking about them. For example, a small note in their lunchbox along with their favourite snack can be a great way to remind your kids that you’re thinking of them. You could also consider calling them after school to make sure they’re safe and on their way home. You can even video chat with them if you have time to.

Make good use of holiday time

It’s also a good idea to make good use of the time that you can spend together. For example, if you and your child both have a week of holiday, then why not take them on a trip? Park Holidays UK is a great place to start since it helps you book a convenient holiday that you don’t need to spend much time thinking about. Of course, you could always plan your holiday so that you’re going someplace that you know your kids will enjoy.

The best way to do this is to always keep an eye on your schedule and your child’s holiday dates. Every school has different start dates for their holidays, but they do tend to be around the same period. Kids are usually off four times a year with the summer holidays being the longest one. This is the perfect time for you and your kids to spend some quality time together.

You could plan to just hang out, you could try new hobbies, or you might even want to book a holiday together. Going on a trip is one of the best ways to bond with your child and it can be transformed into an educational experience based on where you go. It’s usually best if you go for a couple of days, hence why we find it important that you try your best to sync up your holiday dates with those of your children.

Do daily tasks with your children around

Daily tasks can include anything from cleaning the house to cooking meals. Anytime you’re doing something that will be repeated on a regular basis, you should consider getting your kids involved for some quality bonding time and an extra pair of helping hands. Not only does this help you communicate with your children, but it’s also a great way to teach them how to perform certain tasks at home. For example, you can teach them the basics of cooking and preparing food, you can educate them on how to clean their clothes, and it’ll get them used to doing chores around the house.

There are a number of good reasons why you should encourage your kids to do chores. It helps them build a stronger work ethic, it reinforces the idea of respect, and it also teaches them how to work as a team. Don’t underestimate the value that doing these daily tasks together can give. It’s a great way to spend time with your family, to bond, and also to pass down important knowledge and skills to your kids.

While these aren’t the only ways to spend quality time with your kids, they can certainly make it a lot easier to bond with your family.

What To Do If Your Child Is A School Refuser

Are you starting to notice an issue where your child is refusing to go to school? There can be countless reasons why this can happen and for a parent it can be an absolute nightmare. As well as being worried about your child it can mean that you are late for work and forced to take days off. So, what can you do in this situation?

Speak To The School

First, you should absolutely start by speaking to the school. Let them know that there is an issue because it’s important for them to be aware that this isn’t a matter of a parent being lazy or forgetful. They might also be able to provide you with some coping mechanisms and additional levels of support. For instance, it’s possible that your child needs a little coaxing when they get to school to go through the gates. Your school may be willing to help here.

Find Something For Them To Look Forward To

If you give your child something that they can look forward to, then you will be providing them with a reason why they should show up for school each day. This could be related to school plans such as a trip. Primary school residential trips are often arranged for each term. It’s just a case of finding one that your child is interested in or another incentive to get them through the door.

Discover The Root Issue

There are countless reasons why a child might be refusing to go to school. It could be an issue related to bullying. If that’s the case, you need to find out who is bullying your child and what can be done to prevent it. A lot of schools now implement a zero tolerance policy when it comes to bullying. As such, they should be able to provide you with the right support here. They could also be having a problem with their teacher. If so, you need to sit down with the teacher, find out what the problem is and work on the right solution. You’ll often find with young children the reason is related to sensory issues such as being unable to clearly see the information being taught. It could be as simple as getting your child booked in for an eye test.

Focus On A Subject They Love

Finally, you should focus on finding a school subject that they actually enjoy and that is going to provide them with something that they can engage with. Even children that don’t want to go to school do tend to enjoy an element of it at the very least. By focusing on this element, you can give them a reason to get up and get ready in the morning. You can also base any incentives around activities connected to this subject.

We hope this helps you understand some of the key steps that you should take if your child is refusing to go to school. Remember, there can be lots of reasons why issues like this might develop. If you want to fix the problem, you need to first understand the mindset of your child and what they are struggling with.
