Do you live with autism, either personally or as a family member or friend? I do. Read this article to learn about how reiki energy healing can help manage symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
My reiki practice helps keep me emotionally stable to cope with challenging behaviours, and it helps my husband to relax on days when he simply cannot cope with the overwhelm. While he does not yet have a medical diagnosis, we both agree that he fits the criteria for ASD, and I am learning how to support him while we wait for tests via the NHS. April is Autism Awareness Month, so it seems fitting that I should talk about how reiki can help individuals living with autism, and their carers.
Autism Awareness Month
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a form of energy healing that has been gaining popularity in recent years. It is based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional well-being. While Reiki has been known to help with various physical and emotional conditions, it has also been found to be particularly helpful for people living with autism.
What is Autism?
Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects communication, social interaction, and behaviour. It is a complex condition that can have a significant impact on the individual’s quality of life. The symptoms of autism vary from person to person and can range from mild to severe. Some of the common symptoms include difficulty in social interaction, repetitive behaviours, sensory processing issues, and difficulty with communication.
How reiki can help people living with autism
Reiki is believed to help people living with autism by reducing stress and promoting relaxation. Many people with autism experience high levels of anxiety and stress, which can exacerbate their symptoms. Reiki has been found to be effective in reducing stress and anxiety, which can help individuals with autism feel calmer and more relaxed. This can lead to improved communication and social interaction, as well as better sleep and digestion.
Reiki can also help with sensory processing issues, which are common among people with autism. Sensory processing issues can cause individuals to feel overwhelmed or underwhelmed by certain sensory experiences, which can affect their behaviour and mood. Reiki can help individuals with autism develop better coping mechanisms for sensory processing issues, which can lead to more positive experiences and better overall functioning.
Reiki helps you connect with your inner self
In addition to these benefits, Reiki can also help individuals with autism connect with their inner selves and develop a better understanding of their emotions and needs. This can lead to improved self-awareness and self-regulation, which can help individuals with autism better manage their symptoms and improve their overall quality of life.
In conclusion, Reiki can be a powerful tool for individuals living with autism. It can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve sensory processing, and promote overall well-being. If you or a loved one are living with autism, consider exploring Reiki as a complementary therapy to support your journey towards improved health and happiness.

Keeping up with my local book club, read on to see my review of “Come Again” by Robert Webb.
#BookReview: “Come Again” by Robert Webb
My Review for “Come Again” by Robert Webb.
I think I liked this book mostly because of the nostalgia trip to the 90s. Although the characters are a bit older than me, I could still relate to their university experiences and the book got me thinking about my adventures in years gone by. The story takes a completely bizarre twist at the end, and not to give too much of a spoiler, it kind of felt like a James Bond spoof. It made me laugh, it got me thinking, and I enjoyed reading it.
About the Book
Kate’s husband Luke – the man she loved from the moment she met him twenty-eight years ago – died suddenly. Since then, she has pushed away her friends, lost her job and everything is starting to fall apart.
One day, she wakes up in the wrong room and in the wrong body. She is eighteen again but remembers everything. This is her college room in 1992. This is the first day of Freshers’ Week. And this was the day she first met Luke.
But he is not the man that she lost: he’s still a boy – the annoying nineteen-year-old English student she first met. Kate knows how he died and that he’s already ill. If they can fall in love again, she might just be able to save him. She’s going to try to do everything exactly the same…

In my quest to read books that I have hoarded for years, read on to see my review of “Kiss of Snow” by Nalini Singh.
#BookReview “Kiss of Snow” by Nalini Singh
My Review for “Kiss of Snow (Psy-Changeling, #10)” by Nalini Singh
This book has been on my bookshelf for years, and now I wish I had read it sooner! It was fun. There was action, there was love, there was passion, there were werewolves, werecats, psychic bad guys, lots going on. The relationship between the two protagonists was stereotypical but enjoyable, and I especially liked the focus on older characters and their romantic experiences. I will now seek out more books from the series.
About the Book
Since the moment of her defection from the PsyNet and into the SnowDancer wolf pack, Sienna Lauren has had one weakness. Hawke. Alpha and dangerous, he compels her to madness.
Hawke is used to walking alone, having lost the woman who would’ve been his mate long ago. But Sienna fascinates the primal heart of him, even as he tells himself she is far too young to handle the wild fury of the wolf.
Then Sienna changes the rules and suddenly, there is no more distance, only the most intimate of battles between two people who were never meant to meet. Yet as they strip away each other’s secrets in a storm of raw emotion, they must also ready themselves for a far more vicious fight . . .
A deadly enemy is out to destroy SnowDancer, striking at everything they hold dear, but it is Sienna’s darkest secret that may yet savage the pack that is her home . . . and the alpha who is its heartbeat . . .

I received this book for review and since I have read extensively about vibrational lifestyle and mindful living, I was keen to see if it offered more enlightenment.
Read on to see what I thought about “The Kybalion: The Three Initiates.”
#BookReview “The Kybalion Three Initiates” by Lucas Fernando Sosa and Alberto O Asla
My Review of “The Kybalion: The Three Initiates”
I expected this book to be a challenging read due to its subject, and I was proved right. I did enjoy reading it, however, and while I had to concentrate a little more than I might with other books, it wasn’t as intellectually challenging as I feared. I would recommend this book if you are interested in subjects relating to vibrational living, being mindful, and what it truly means to live as a spiritual being. It doesn’t profess to change your life or make it better, but it should leave you feeling more aware of what is really going on around you, and what the bigger picture is.
About the Book
As a modern version of one of the greatest classics of esoteric literature, this book is rich in symbolism with a narrative and visual manifestation that will mesmerise the reader. Simultaneously simple and complex, this work will help open wide the door of knowledge. Each chapter is accompanied by an image whose graphic, enigmatic, and archetypal form artistically represents the infinite wisdom that the work possesses. These optical illusions give the reader a better visualization of the universe and how immensely infinite it is, in addition to how imperceptible it may be in the eyes of the human being…

I have a fantastic homemade recipe to share, plus exclusive offers from my favourite affiliate partners, saving you lots of money on pet care.
National Pet Day
Save money with homemade meals for your dog
A friend recently shared her homemade recipe for feeding a fussy dog. She has a Shih Tzu with lots of attitude, and she’s gorgeous! On her day off work, my friend batch cooked the food and separated it into portions to freeze so that she can defrost what she needs each day. This recipe provided 12 x 200g bags of food for a total of £8, compared to £38 for 14 x 200g bags of fresh pet food from a mail order company.
Here’s the recipe:
1 x pack of beef mince, 1 x pack of pork mince, 1 x pack of turkey mince (all high in fat)
Boiled Potatoes & Sweet Potato (you choose the quantity)
Cooked Rice & Pasta (you choose the quantity)
1 x bag of Frozen Mixed Vegetables
Here’s how to prepare the meals:
Fry each pack of meat separately with a mix of the potatoes, rice, and pasta, adding the frozen vegetables to finish. Leave it to cool, then chop it into smaller pieces and separate into portions that would provide a suitable meal for your dog. Put the portions into freezer bags and store in your freezer, defrosting them individually when you require them. Simple!

I received this book for review and since I am a fan of occult subjects, I couldn’t wait to get stuck in.
Read on to see my review of “Introducing the Occult” by Colin Wilson.
Book Review Introducing the Occult
My Reviewfor “Introducing the Occult” by Colin Wilson
This book is not going to introduce you to the occult. It is basically a collection of samples from previously published books on the subject, written by the late Colin Wilson. I found it useful for the fact that I had not heard about him throughout my research and reading, and the book was interesting in that respect. It does, however, leave me with a list of books to read that will expand upon what is introduced by the editor. I got a little confused about time frames, since the chapters refer to events at the time of the original books being written, which was back in the 1970s and 1980s (I think).
About the Book
The late Colin Wilson wrote a staggering 180 introductions, forewords, prefaces and afterwords to other authors’ books. Soon after his now classic study The Occult appeared in 1971, he was constantly sought out by writers and publishers to endorse their work. He rarely refused. And, as this volume reveals, these were not hurriedly written paragraphs, relying largely on his name as an endorsement, but often significant and substantial essays. Introducing the Occult brings together 17 of his best published introductions chosen by his bibliographer Colin Stanley. Within these covers you can read Colin Wilson on magic, witchcraft, exorcism, ghosts, poltergeists, the Loch Ness Monster, the afterlife, dowsing and much more.

By the time evening rolls around, you could just want to relax. With some Easter movies for kids and families, you can do exactly that. Sit back, toss on a movie, and enjoy the rest of the movie.
Do An Easter Egg Hunt – Easter eggs are one of the more notable parts of the holiday and something everyone looks forward to. By putting some effort into this, you can make it quite enjoyable and something that everyone looks forward to. It could even become a bit of a tradition, so you and your family will start getting excited about it in the weeks before Easter.
Make Homemade Candy – When most people think of Easter food, they usually picture chocolate, but that’s far from the only treat you can have for the day. Candy can always be recommended, and you can make this extra special with homemade candy. Get your kids involved, and you’ll have an amazing time doing it. Making the candy shouldn’t take much time or effort, so you’ll be enjoying it before you know it.

As a mother, it is natural to want what’s best for our children. You may be considering everything from their nutrition and education to encouraging hobbies such as sports or music lessons.
However, an often overlooked part of early childhood development is playing with educational toys and taking advantage of learning programs specifically designed for young learners.
Research has shown that engaging in stimulating activities promotes healthy mental and physical growth, making investing in educational toys and programs well worth the effort! In this blog post, we will discuss the various roles these kinds of activities can play in helping your child succeed later in life.
Understanding the Benefits of Educational Toys and Programs
For generations, educational toys and programs have been used to help give children the best start in life. Parents increasingly understand how beneficial these activities can be for their kids: from strengthening problem-solving capabilities and memory retention to developing creativity and bolstering self-esteem — all within a meaningful learning context. For example, when a child successfully solves a puzzle or completes an assignment from an educational program, it immensely boosts their confidence in themselves. The result is increased happiness, curiosity, motivation, and intelligence! Overall, educational toys and programs play a vital role in helping young children reach their full potential.
How Early Childhood Education Creates Long-term Success
From a young age, inherited trait lessons for kids, such as problem-solving, communication and collaboration, can be encouraged, nurtured and developed through play. Toys that engage learning help to expand children’s imaginations while reinforcing the concepts they are exploring. Educational programming gives kids the tools they need to tackle today’s significant issues, such as poverty and inequality. Concepts like these help stimulate critical thinking and creativity in kids from an early age, creating an understanding of these topics that will stay with them. Through high-quality educational toys and programs, parents can provide their kids with the foundation for success later down the line.
The Role of Cognitive Development in Educational Toys and Programs
Educational toys and programs offer numerous benefits to children. One of the most important ones is their role in cognitive development. Cognitive development involves:
Building a bank of knowledge.
Expanding problem-solving skills.
Learning abstract thinking for progression through different levels of learning.
Furthermore, cognitive development helps children think outside of the box, developing a more efficient way of learning. Quality educational toys and programs can help boost children’s cognitive development by stimulating their minds so they can take on each new skill with ease. By providing challenging puzzles, games or other activities for kinetic learning, these toys and programs encourage children to think critically about their decisions and reflect upon their mistakes to make specific improvements when required. All these components are put together to enable the child to have better control over the cognitive development process, which leads them to understand complex concepts more deeply, resulting in improved problem-solving abilities, which are essential later in life.
Encouraging Social Interaction with Educational Toys
Children are born with a natural curiosity that can often be enhanced by playing with suitable educational toys. By utilizing these tools, you can encourage solid social interaction with other kids, teach essential problem-solving techniques, and give your child the opportunity to make mistakes and grow from them. With the help of educational toys, parents can facilitate interactions between children and make sure their kids are exposed to a variety of age-appropriate activities – many of which require skills such as conversation, taking turns, and understanding various perspectives. In addition, educational toys provide an excellent avenue for playtime where your children can practice discipline and patience alongside their peers. Even though educational toys may seem like a fun distraction for toddlers and preschoolers, the ability for these toys to engage their minds extends well beyond those years – even directly impacting their future success later in life by developing skills such as collaboration, resourcefulness, conflict resolution and independence.
Developing Motor Skills with Educational Toys and Programs
From gripping a toy in your hands to hopping from one block to another, motor skills are an essential part of a child’s physical development. With early exposure and practice, you can help your child sharpen their motor skills with the use of educational toys and programs.
Specifically, educational toys promote tactile awareness and fine motor coordination by assisting children in identifying different textures and shapes within objects. Similarly, educational programs focus on improving gross motor movements such as balance, eye-hand coordination, and running and jumping abilities. Not only do these toys challenge children to refine their movement capabilities, but they also naturally improve problem-solving skills while having fun in the process. As such, successfully developing your child’s motor skills with educational products can reinforce essential traits beneficial during later stages of life.
We can see from the evidence presented in this blog post that educational toys and programs provide many diverse benefits to children who engage in these activities at an early age. With a strong focus on cognitive, social, and motor skills development, educational toys and programs are special tools that support a child’s growth and success later in life.
