We are Lego Master Builders! @LDCManchester

My daughters are well and truly obsessed with Lego. It began when I gave them a large crate of assorted bricks that I had saved from childhood. In that crate are the kits to build a Lego fire station, a medieval castle, and lots of vehicles and creative projects. We began collecting Lego minifigures, we watched the recent TV show Lego Masters, and we visited our local Legoland Discovery Centre in Manchester.

I received an invitation to visit Legoland Discovery Centre and participate in the master builders challenge with my family. My daughters immediately decided to pit themselves against the grown-ups, and off we went. There is a special room within the Legoland Discovery Centre where you take part in the Master Builders challenge. A member of staff will sit you at a table, present you with a pile of Lego bricks, and time you for fifteen minutes. They will then judge the winner.

I’m sure you can imagine who won our Master Builders challenge? Yes, it was the children. My husband had been determined to win, but on the day we lost our nerve, panicked, and couldn’t build anything creative within the time frame. It is surprisingly high-pressured, but lots of fun to do. We have yet to do a rematch with our daughters to see if we can best them… Could you be a Master Builder? Visit your local Legoland Discovery Centre to find out.
