Epona massaged her numb derriere, stimulating the blood flow after hours of sitting and listening to the pleas, complaints, and often preposterous wishes of supplicants. Bring back my man—put a curse on my rival—as if the Goddess of fruitfulness dealt in curses—make me pretty. Didn’t anyone care about bountiful crops anymore? Or babies?

Her writing buddy is her 14-year-old Basset hound, Daisy Josette.
