Saying Goodbye

Today I say goodbye. Our family will say goodbye. Our beloved Grandad and Dad will be laid to rest following many years of ill health due to the aging process. His wife, my Nanna, died in 2015, and back then we prepared ourselves for the inevitable. My Nan and Grandad were devoted to each other. They were never separated throughout my entire life, and their house provided a safe place to visit and play, a shelter from the dramas of school and college.

Saying Goodbye SpookyMrsGreen

My happiest childhood memories involve holidays on the North Wales coast, staying at their caravan. We always had such fun! And then there were the local carnivals and festivals that Grandad got involved with. He would build models, customise his classic car, create fancy dress costumes, and of course, the grandchildren had to join in. I reckon that is where my love for dressing up comes from… Goodbye, Grandad. We love you.
