Welcome to another #WitchyWednesday, my magical friends! Today, I want to share a book that resonated deeply with me—”The Narcissist and the Awakening” by Paris Stephenson.
This insightful read is not just another book about toxic relationships; it offers a fresh perspective on the role of the narcissist in our lives, exploring these connections as karmic lessons rather than placing blame or dwelling in victimhood. Read on for my full review…
My Review of “The Narcissist and the Awakening” by Paris Stephenson
This book resonated deeply with me, and I read it very quickly. I have explored my relationships with narcissists during the past ten years, and this book spoke about something that is meaningful to me as an individual. I totally understand the nature of the narcissist and I agree with almost everything that the author discusses in the book. She seeks to explore our relationships with narcissists in terms of karmic lessons and rights of passage, rather than blaming the narcissist and labelling yourself a victim.
There are useful meditations at the end of each chapter that are designed to help you connect with your inner self to continue healing and to learn constructively from your experiences with narcissistic relationships. Perhaps you might recognise the narcissist in yourself, I don’t know, that has not been my experience. Either way, I recommend that you read this book. It is short and concise and yet it delivers a powerful message. 5 stars!
About the Book
Rooted in psychological research, “The Narcissist and the Awakening” takes a look at emotional abuse from a spiritual perspective. Within these pages, author Paris Stephenson explores the possible influence of karma and past life events on our current relationships, inquiring why we might make soul contracts with narcissists and why some relationships with our soul family might be destructive. The importance of transcending these ancient karmic connections is also examined so that we can reclaim our power, discard karmic ties, and create our own destiny.
Right now, many people are healing at an accelerated rate from karma they have been carrying for possibly thousands of years. This is likely an uncomfortable and painful process. If you have experienced emotional abuse, then this book will be a small but useful tool, assisting you along your journey, with its aim to kickstart your spiritual ascension and new beginning, with wisdom, meditation and prayer.

I probably will not read the book, but I lived with a narcissist for 30 years. I know all the symptoms, signs, long-term effects. I never blamed him for his behavior, because it was learned by many things not in his control. And I never saw myself the victim, only the person who found the courage to break away and improve herself into a better and happier person. I feel sorry for him, at times, because he has to live an unhappy life, not understanding what his narcissism has done to him.
Thank you for commenting. I think it is the same for many narcissists and I also speak from experience. They ultimately end up lonely.
