My Review
I received the Aqua case with Mint & Aloe Vera Deodorant to sample. I have been using the deodorant for over a month now and it will last for a lot longer, so I recommend this product as good value for money. The aqua case is sleek and shiny, and I think it adds a touch of elegance to my dressing table, much nicer than the plastic bottles of roll-on deodorant that I used before. If you are a fan of aesthetic décor, these deodorants are a great accessory to your bedroom, bathroom or dressing room.
In practical terms, the Wild natural deodorant applies easily and the Mint & Aloe scent that I’m currently using is refreshing and light, perfect for hot summer days. The deodorant can be a bit clumpy since it is in a block, but it feels like body butter, and I find that if I massage it into my under-arm skin it soon absorbs, and I can enjoy the refreshing scent. I have sensitive skin, but I chose to sample the regular deodorant block, and it is fine for me with no soreness or itching to report.
Overall, I am very happy with my Wild natural deodorant, and I will continue to order refills when I need them. I like the variety of scents and that there are seasonal scents available. You can still order some Christmas and Autumn scents if you want to stock up.
My Daughter’s Review
My teenage daughter received the black case with Fresh Cotton & Sea Salt Deodorant. She loved the design of the case and said that it looks trendy and cool. She also had fun putting the refill into the case! It is easy to assemble, and the deodorant case survives a lot of wear and tear. It gets dropped on the floor a lot (teenage hormones make you clumsy), it has been knocked off the dressing table a few times, and it still looks like new.
The big test came with a day at school and how well the deodorant worked for an average day. My daughter says that she feels refreshed and the deodorant applies smoothly for her, absorbing easily into her skin and leaving her feeling fresh. She said that it does tend to wear off by lunchtime and it doesn’t last during a PE session, but the case is sturdy enough that you can put it in a school bag or PE bag and use it when necessary.
Like me, my daughter is very happy with her new deodorant and is impressed with its durability and the fact that the refill lasts for a long time. She is also excited to try new scents when we order the refills.

My Review of “About a Vampire”
This isn’t the best vampire story I have read but it’s also not the worst. It is somewhere in-between. I like the romantic suspense element. I like the vampire world with its rules and regulations. I didn’t like that events unfolded quickly and the humans involved simply accepted it and went along with everything. I couldn’t connect with Holly and the whole relationship with her husband was just weird and too easy to break up. I am undecided about how I would rate this book. It filled a gap in my craving for a vampire story, but it also left me feeling a bit empty.

My Review of “Wrong Place Wrong Time”
I enjoyed this book. And I’m a little bit in love with Kelly! It’s a curious novel, because I don’t feel much of a connection with the protagonist, Jen, but I do recognise her life. I’m not familiar with Crosby where the story is set, but I do live in the North of England, and it makes a nice change to read something contemporary that is set a bit closer to home.
Travelling back through time was confusing at first, and I took a little time to settle in to the story. But once it picked up pace and I realised where it was heading, I read the book fairly quickly. Considering the size of the book, I’m surprised that it only took me about a week to read. You know it’s a good book when I whiz through it like that!
So, Kelly. He’s a bit aloof and a bit mysterious, and at first you think he’s just another miserable middle-aged bloke. But then you start to see a different side of him as Jen discovers the truth about her husband and how she can prevent the terrible crime committed by her son. I like her references to the bits of life that we miss while we are busy working, and I’m sure lots of people can relate to that.
I recommend this book and I can see why it is popular.

Charlie was born to a feral cat at the IVC facility where my husband works in Cheshire East and was taken in by animal rescue when the mother rejected her litter.

Charlie and his siblings were found in a compost pile on the IVC facility, and they had a lucky escape. The worker who found them was using a mechanical digger to move compost around on the site, and he would have scooped up the kittens and probably killed them without even knowing they were there. Something made him get out of his cab and check the compost pile, and that’s when he found the babies and their mother. She ran away as soon as he approached, so he took the kittens into the office where he and his colleagues set about finding blankets and shelter before contacting the RSPCA and a local veterinary surgery for advice. Charlie’s 4 siblings sadly passed within the first few weeks and little Charlie has lost an eye due to infection. He has an uncertain future health-wise, but we will give him as much love and care as we possibly can.
We brought Charlie to his new home earlier this week. My girls and I went to collect him after school one day. There were some tears later that night as we remembered our beloved little Cora who was gone too soon. She sadly died in an accident in 2022. Here’s hoping that her sister, Nora, will take care of Charlie and his love might soften the grief that is always present

Kelly has a lot of homeless kittens under her care at the moment, and she is still paying for Charlie’s vet fees and for her other rescue cats and kittens. My husband and I donated what we could, and we anticipate that Charlie will need extra care as he grows older, so we are prepared for that.
If you could spare £1 or $1 for the cat rescue campaign it will go a long way to saving the lives of abandoned kittens and cats in our local area, and all feral cats are spayed and vaccinated before being returned to their preferred environment. Charlie’s mother has returned to the IVC facility where the staff can watch over her and she is happy in her own space. She will not be having any more kittens.

She is currently hand-rearing several kittens from a few stray families that were brought in, and she cannot take any more homeless pets until she pays some of the vet fees that have accumulated.
I know you are animal lovers, my friends, or you wouldn’t be following my blog and reading my stories. I will continue to share updates about Charlie as he settles into his new home, along with tales about his antics with our 2 year-old cat, Nora, and our 6 year-old rescue dog, Marley. Our pets are a little confused about this new kitten in the house and Nora sulked upstairs all night when we first brought him home. Today she seems a little more curious, and I think she is almost ready to get close to Charlie and get to know him. I hope that she will mother him and give him the feline care that he needs, but we will not force her. Charlie has his own little bedroom for now where he is safe, I am caring for him during the day, and our children will play with him when they return from school.

My Review of “The Witch’s Book of Love Spells”
This is a cute little book with a lot of useful information packed into the pages. I like that there are different sections to cover recipes for food and drink with explanations of how it relates to love spells, astrology and partner compatibility, herbs, and crystals that you can use for personal spell work, and lots more. It is all laid out in an easy-to-read format with colourful illustrations. My teenage daughter liked the look of it immediately, so I will be monitoring her to see what spell work she might attempt!
This book is a great resource for witches old and new, and you can adapt the spells to represent love in all forms, not just the romance department. Sometimes a good spell for selfcare can help change your perspective on a troubling issue and can give your confidence a boost when you need it.
I will mention that the book is written for an American audience so ingredients lists might be tricky to interpret. Of course, that is easily remedied in today’s AI powered world, but I thought I would make a point of including it in my review. I look forward to working with this book in the future.

Woman Through the Ages by Ann Merivale
My Review of “Woman Through the Ages”
This is one hefty tome! I enjoyed reading this book and I do recommend it if you want to explore history from the perspective of women. What I didn’t realise was that this book is an alternative autobiography. Ann Merivale is a deep-memory process therapist, which means that she helps people to access long-lost memories to help them heal and resolve issues that continue to trouble them.
In this book, Merivale writes about her own personal past-life memories as chronicled throughout her current life. She then explains more about the history of the location and the time period to which these memories refer which I found fascinating to read. She talks about influential women or women who were infamous during different time periods, and the legacy they left.
I will say that the book probably didn’t need to be quite so long, and there are some personal memories from Ann’s current life that might not be so interesting to read about. I am fascinated with past-life regression and there is lots of that to be explored in this book. It would make a great read for your summer holiday!

Summer is upon us, and we are still experiencing a heatwave here in the UK, albeit with some rain thrown in for good measure. I decided to do a horoscope spread for the Tarot card reading, which gives guidance and insight for the year ahead.

I laid the cards out in a horoscope spread. This uses twelve cards to represent each calendar month, and for this reading I read the cards in an anti-clockwise direction which I was guided to do intuitively.
1. Your relationship with Yourself: 9 of Cups – Right now you are in a good place emotionally. This card makes for a good Tarot reading because it confirms that you start the second half of this calendar year in a good place. You know your strengths and you are able to use them to your advantage. Now you may ask “Where do I go from here? What is the next challenge that I can rise to now that I am equipped to handle it?”
2. What you value in relationships: 10 of Pentacles – For you it must be all or nothing. You give everything in your relationships, and you expect the same in return. Are you prepared to settle for anything less in the current situation? Or are you prepared to walk away if the other person/people don’t give the same attention to detail? I feel this relates to a professional matter rather than personal, so it could be to with your business or your job.

Tarot of Eternal Being Tarot Card Deck Review
I received the Tarot of Eternal Being Tarot card deck by Ann Stoker along with a book called “Tarot and the Cube of Space: Key to the Cosmos” by Oderic. The book review will follow separately so look out for that, but I decided to include the Tarot card review here since it is easier to review Tarot cards once I have used them in a reading.
These cards are vibrant and full of energy! They come with a small guidebook but for more insights you need the “Tarot and the Cube of Space” book as it details each individual card with readings related to the subject matter, namely the Kabalah and Tree of Life in the Hebrew tradition. I found the cards easy to work with and would recommend them for people who are new to Tarot cards. As a more experienced reader myself, I connected intuitively with the cards and set aside 3 cards to work with personally as they fell out of the deck while I was shuffling it and I knew that they held a message for me. I like the rich colours on these Tarot cards and the symbolism that they contain.
