👻 What Are Haunted Dolls?

A haunted doll, or spirit vessel, is an object—usually a doll—that is believed to house a spirit or energetic imprint. These dolls are often collected by paranormal investigators (like myself!), spiritualists, or curious folk who feel drawn to them.

Haunted dolls can arrive with loving, peaceful energy—or they may carry residual trauma, sadness, or mischief. Not every haunted doll is harmful, but it’s always wise to keep your energy clear and balanced when working with one.

🌕 Why Cleanse a Haunted Doll?

Just like we cleanse our crystals, sacred spaces, and even ourselves, haunted dolls need energetic care. Whether the spirit within is playful, protective, or confused, it’s important to create harmony in your home. Here’s why I cleanse my dolls regularly:

• To remove stagnant or negative energy
• To reset the energy before spirit communication sessions
• To protect my children, pets, and home
• To honour the spirit’s presence with respect and care

Cleansing doesn’t mean banishing or exorcising (unless that’s the intention). It’s about realignment, grounding, and clear communication.

🔮 How to Cleanse Haunted Dolls: My Method

Everyone has their own method of cleansing, but here’s what works for me—especially when I’m preparing for spirit communication or after attending a paranormal investigation with my dolls.

1. Set a Clear Intention

Before I begin, I state my intention aloud:

“I cleanse this doll of any energy that no longer serves the highest good. May only love and light remain.”

Intent is everything when it comes to spiritual work.

2. Use Smoke Cleansing

I pass each doll through the smoke of ethically sourced white sage, rosemary, or palo santo. If indoors, I make sure the space is well-ventilated. For a gentler cleanse, I often use incense sticks infused with lavender or frankincense.

3. Sound Cleansing

I use a singing bowl, bell, or tuning fork to break up heavy energy around the doll. Sound waves can reset and realign energy quickly.

4. Crystal Charging

After cleansing, I place the doll near a selenite wand or amethyst cluster overnight. Selenite is my go-to for purifying energy and encouraging peaceful vibrations.

5. Moonlight Recharge

During the full moon, I place my dolls by a window or on my altar to soak up lunar energy. This is especially effective if a doll feels “heavy” or overly active.

🕯️ Bonus Tip: Create a Protective Circle

If you’re performing spirit communication or using tools like a spirit box or dowsing rods, it’s wise to create a protective circle first. I use black tourmaline and a white candle, and I call on my spirit guides to assist. This keeps my energy grounded and protected throughout the session.

🌒 When Should You Cleanse Your Haunted Dolls?

Here are some signs it might be time for a cleanse:

• The doll feels heavier or colder than usual
• You experience sudden mood changes around it
• Your spirit communication becomes erratic or overwhelming
• You’ve brought the doll to a new environment (e.g., an investigation site)
• You just feel like it needs a cleanse—trust your intuition!
