I couldn’t resist the spirit of today, so Happy Valentine’s Day to all my friends, and welcome to my new followers! Every year I tell myself I won’t be dragged into the blatant commercialism of this day, but I always succumb.

Let’s face it, even though we don’t like admitting to being soppy and emotional, most of us mere mortals will always appreciate a bit of romance in our lives. I know I do. A small gesture here and there makes all the difference, especially when it comes from the person closest to you.

Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone!

Now, I am blessed to be married to a wonderful man who loves me and tells me so repeatedly every day. He may not realise just how important those little affirmations really are, since we have been experiencing a little discord in our relationship of late. My complaint here is that my husband is very definitely not the romantic type that I had hoped he could be. He refuses to be drawn into the hype of Valentine’s Day. I have no problem with this, but romance is important to me. He could surprise me at any time with a romantic gesture and I would be delighted. Alas, I am still waiting after 13 long years.

Still, I have lots of beautiful, amazing friends, and they know how to cheer me up. Happy Valentine’s Day everybody!
