#AtoZChallenge Day 12: Love

Love. Now there is a loaded word! The titles of my first three Redcliffe novels pretty much give away the central topic of the stories.

The first is Love Hurts (A Redcliffe Novel). Yep, it sure does! Much of the action of my heroines and heroes in the Redcliffe novels is drawn from personal experience, although I have exaggerated it slightly for dramatic effect.

#AtoZChallenge Day 12: Love

Jessica Stone is the heroine of the Redcliffe novels. She tells the story of what happened when she finally let down her guard and allowed herself to fall in love. Too bad she ended up doing it with a vampire! And then she had to meet his identical twin werewolf brother. Poor Jessica does not get an easy ride, but at the same time, she gives as much as she  gets. She is not simply the love struck helpless female of traditional romantic sagas. Jessica fights her emotions every step of the way with Jack Mason, and that is probably a hindrance in some situations.

Take Love Kills (A Redcliffe Novel), the second book in the series. Jessica is recovering from horrific injuries inflicted by a werewolf. Her life was saved by her vampire lover, but she still found herself in hospital, and then taking time to recover from her wounds, both physical and emotional. During the course of this novel, she fights with her emotions about both Jack and Danny Mason, along with other personal revelations. By the end of the book, Jessica is driven to kill in order to protect her lover.

Finally, in Love Redeems (A Redcliffe Novel), we get a taste of the joy of love, although not without even more trauma. The wild adventure continues, Jessica becomes a harder and stronger person as  her witchcraft improves, but she also struggles to deal with her emotions and the nature of her love for Jack and Danny Mason. By the end of the story we have concluded the trilogy of what happened when Jessica met Jack, but we are left with many unanswered questions. All will be revealed in book 4, when I get round to writing it!
