A Frosted Cherry Cleaning Ritual for Cosy October Days

October brings darker evenings, muddy paws and that familiar rush of family life. The Halloween decorations may be going up, but the everyday mess carries on underneath them!

When the house feels chaotic, I find it helps to make cleaning a small ritual: open a window, put on something I enjoy listening to and spend a little time bringing one room back to life.

Cleaning Ritual for Cosy October Days

Scent is a big part of that feeling. We share our home with a dog and cats, and as much as I love them, I don’t always love what they bring in from outdoors. On a damp autumn day, a freshly cleaned room can feel especially welcoming. That’s why the Astonish Frosted Cherry Cleaning Bundle 6 Piece caught my eye. It brings together six everyday essentials in one seasonal fragrance, so the cleaning cupboard gets a cosy October refresh too.

I would start in the kitchen, where the after-school clutter seems to appear as if by magic. The Frosted Cherry Ready To Use Disinfectant is handy for the regular wipe-down, while the Antibacterial Surface Cleanser gives me another option for suitable household surfaces. I like having those quick jobs covered before they grow into a much bigger weekend task.

Muddy Paws makes for Muddy Floors

Then there are the floors. Between family comings and goings and the pets padding through the house, they rarely stay clean for long. The All Purpose Floor Cleaner fits neatly into a weekly mop of sealed hard floors, and the Concentrated Disinfectant is there for other cleaning jobs when diluted according to the bottle instructions. It’s the sort of practical routine that makes the whole house feel a little more settled.

The bundle also includes Toilet Fresh Thick Gel for the bathroom and Shake & Fresh Carpet Freshener for suitable carpets. That last one sounds particularly useful in a home with pets, where favourite lounging spots can become a bit whiffy. I’d follow the label directions and keep the animals away while using cleaning products, then let them reclaim their cosy corners when everything is finished.

Small Comforts Matter to Me

I don’t expect a cherry-scented surface to solve a busy day. But small sensory comforts do matter to me when it’s already dark before the evening routine is over. A tidy room, a warm drink and a soft, fruity scent can make the house feel less like another item on the to-do list and more like a place to rest. Add a glowing lamp and perhaps a spooky film later on, and the ordinary cleaning ritual becomes part of making autumn feel special.
