How To Be Remembered Beyond Your Lifetime

When you think about it, we all leave a bit of a mark on the world. That could be with a good attitude and funny jokes, or perhaps it’s wisdom, maybe it’s wonderful cooking, or being able to fix anything and everything
it could be anything, and the point is, being remembered really isn’t about fame or fortune in the end – it’s about how we made people feel and the joy we brought to their lives.

And if we’re honest, most of us are hoping that we’ll be remembered for something good and something that makes people smile many years from now. So how do you actually make that happen? Read on to find out.

Be You

The most memorable people really aren’t perfect – but they are genuine. They’re the ones who love who they are and go with it, no matter what awkward quirks they might have. It doesn’t matter because in the end, these are the little things people are always going to remember about you, so if there are things that make you stand out, no matter how silly they might seem, they’re the ones you need to be proudest of.

It’s those details that turn into stories later on, and they’re the things people really cherish because they were just you, and they’ll always think of you when they are reminded of those little things. So although you might want your legacy to be something grand, it could well be that it’s a tiny little quirk you’ve got that you barely think about. And that’s enough.

Pass Something On

Being remembered isn’t always about grand gestures, and it could actually be something as simple as teaching someone how to ride a bike, telling your favourite childhood stories, or sharing a few life lessons that actually stick and are really useful. It’s those moments – little, unexpected things – that tend to get passed down and retold again and again.

So if that’s something you want, write things down if you want to and leave notes, or record voice memos, and hand over instructions and recipes and anything else that people might want to know about. It’s true you’re not going to know which of these memories is going to live the longest, but at least you can be sure that something’s going to continue after you’ve gone.

Make The Planning Easy

This is something we just don’t talk about enough – how to make life easier for the people we leave behind. After all, it’s not the happiest topic in the world, but it is an important one, so it’s crucial to get around to it. Taking a bit of time now to think about things like wills, personal wishes, and even your funeral, is one of the kindest things you can do for your family.

That’s why it’s a good idea to have professional funeral planning services to help you out. You’re not being morbid, what you’re doing is making sure your life, your personality, and what mattered to you most is part of your goodbye, and it means you can choose exactly the funeral you want and how it goes. The fact is that planning it ahead means less stress for your loved ones, and it means you get a send-off that’s exactly what you want, so it’s a perfect way to go about things.
