As a busy mum with a million things on my plate, switching off and truly relaxing feels like an impossible task. It’s half-term, and while I’ve managed to take some time off from my retail job to spend with my girls, there’s always something creative or work-related calling for my attention.
Even though I’m technically “off,” my freelance writing and the upcoming book launch never seem to take a break! Still, I’m trying my best to take a moment for rest. (It’s a work in progress!)
Finding Time to Rest Amidst the Chaos
But let’s talk about resting for a second. You know the kind of rest where you think you can finally kick back, watch some mindless TV, and enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon? Well, that was my plan… until my daughters decided it was tap shoe practice time—right in front of the TV. Ah yes, nothing says “peace and quiet” like the sound of clinking metal taps echoing around the room. And as much as I love their enthusiasm for their upcoming dance show, I’ll admit, there was a brief moment when I considered going back to work just for the sake of some actual quiet. But hey, a mum’s life is never boring, right? 😊
It’s all part of the juggle of being a mum with lots of creative projects on the go. Sometimes, you just have to laugh (or cry, depending on the day)! I’m determined to rest where I can, but with a busy schedule and so many exciting things in the pipeline, finding a moment of true peace is definitely a challenge.
