Birthday Celebrations are Done; Now we can Step Into Christmas!

Hi folks, happy #MummyMonday! Now that my husband’s birthday has passed, it’s finally time to embrace the festive season in our house. Every year, we hold off on all things Christmas until we’ve properly celebrated his big day, and now I’m ready to dive headfirst into the holiday cheer.

Over the weekend, our town switched on its beautiful Christmas lights, which always feels like the official start of the festive countdown. The air is crisp, shop windows are sparkling, and it’s the perfect time to start planning magical days out and festive treats for the whole family.

Counting Down to Black Friday

This week is even more exciting because Black Friday is here, and I’ve got some fantastic deals to share! If you’re dreaming of a little getaway or fancy treating yourself and your loved ones, you can’t miss Holiday Extras’ biggest-ever Black Friday sale. From discounted airport parking to luxurious lounge access and hotel stays, there’s something for everyone. It’s the perfect way to book a festive escape or start planning your adventures for the new year. Check it out here: Holiday Extras Black Friday Deals.

Festive Family Fun: Christmas Pantomimes

One of my favourite parts of the season is heading to the theatre for a Christmas pantomime. Whether it’s a classic like Cinderella or a quirky retelling of Peter Pan, there’s nothing quite like the energy of a panto audience shouting, ā€œOh no, it isn’t!ā€ to get you into the festive mood. Local theatres across the UK host some incredible performances that are perfect for a family day out or a cosy date night. Add it to your Christmas bucket list – it’s a tradition you’ll treasure forever.

Exploring Christmas Markets

Christmas markets are another holiday highlight, offering a magical mix of festive lights, handmade crafts, delicious food, and mulled wine to keep you warm. London’s Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is iconic, featuring market stalls, ice skating, and thrilling rides for the little ones. If you prefer something closer to home, Manchester’s famous Christmas markets are perfect for a day trip, with cosy wooden chalets and festive treats lining the city streets. You might even find a few unique gifts for those tricky-to-shop-for loved ones!

Hidden Gems and Hotel Breaks

For those looking for something a bit different, why not explore the UK’s hidden tourist spots? Think castles lit up with festive lights, charming coastal towns like Whitby or St Ives, or even a quiet retreat in the Lake District to escape the hustle and bustle. With so many family-friendly hotels offering great deals this time of year, it’s the perfect excuse to pack your bags and create lasting memories.

Ready, Set, Festive!

Black Friday is the perfect time to grab a bargain and plan some magical experiences. Whether it’s a theatre trip, a last-minute city escape, or even just a relaxing hotel break, the holiday season is the perfect time to indulge.
