I remember “the period talk” at high school when I was a teenager. Girls were taken away to a separate room, told what to expect, and given a period starter pack courtesy of Always and Tampax. Does that still happen in schools today?

Anyway, I feel much better now that I have access to reusable period products, and I will encourage my daughters to use them when their time comes. I was always conscious about the environmental impact of disposable period pads (or sanitary towels, as we called them in the old days), and I find my washable pads are far more comfortable and don’t irritate my sensitive skin.
