Memories of Christmas as a Child of the 80s

I always feel a sense of nostalgia during the Christmas season. It evokes memories from my childhood of happy family Christmas celebrations, visiting Santa Claus, dressing up for discos, and generally feeling the magic of the holiday season.

Being a child of the 80s I grew up with the growth of pop culture, where every movie franchise came with toys and games, where we wanted the latest tech and everything was colourful and vibrant. I still feel that childlike excitement when I see merchandise for Ghostbusters, when my children ask for Lego playsets for Christmas, and when we watch my favourite classic movies (remember The Goonies?)

This Christmas we are keeping to ourselves and relaxing at home. We have enjoyed a Christmas pantomime at the Crewe Lyceum theatre, we will have a family meal in a local pub on Christmas Eve, and we will play some board games. Merry Christmas!
