Happy New Year from Spooky Mrs Green

Happy New Year everyone! How are you feeling today?

As usual I feel a mix of excitement for a new year and indifference because it is technically just another day. We plan to take a drive to Talacre Beach as per our New Year’s Day family tradition, but first I need to check the quarantine situation in Wales and make sure we are allowed to visit. We missed it last year due to lockdowns and Covid-19.

My close family and I have so far survived another year without catching the dreaded virus. Many of my friends and extended family members have had it but they all remained at home and recovered without any long-term effects that I’m aware of. We are now trying to move on with life as much as we can, planning holidays and excursions, catching up with social events and activities.

This year I reach a milestone birthday and it is just weeks away. Can you guess how old I will be?! I won’t be upset if you get it wrong, especially if you guess younger. I feel quite happy to have reached this age mostly unscathed, content with my lot in life and while there is plenty of room for improvement, I am generally happy and optimistic for what lies ahead. Things can only get better as the old song says (you know which one I mean).

Here’s to an exciting year ahead. Make it a good one, my friends.
