Chronic Voice Link-up: It’s all Falling into Place!

Welcome to October and our monthly A Chronic Voice blog link-up. Read on for my take on the October prompts.

FALLING

I love the fall season, or Autumn here in the UK. It always feels better for me in general, not least because I prefer colder weather. I burn in the sun, so I am far happier walking the dog on fresh, cool mornings. Plus, it seems easier on my eyes. Speaking of which, I may have finally found a treatment that works. My blood serum eyedrops are helping enormously and my chronic pain has been falling away during the past couple of months. Relief at last!

TRANSITIONING

My life is transitioning once again and not in the way that I thought. Having been separated from my husband for a full twelve months, I began to think about divorce. I didn’t want to do it. But he seemed completely distant and uninterested. Then it all changed suddenly. He didn’t want divorce. He still loves me. He is now receiving NHS support for his mental illness and awaiting referral for autism testing. We are trying to repair our marriage.

CHOOSING

This month I am choosing to look on the bright side of life. I am enjoying time with my family, especially my husband now that he is taking an interest in life again and not just hiding in work. We have had a date night and we made plans for couple time in the next few months. We are both choosing to work on our marriage and trying to find our way back to each other. It feels good.

IMAGINING

My imagination runs wild in October. I love the spooky season, and this month I have also attended online poetry workshops with Wren and Ink. I am now imagining all sorts of new poems, and my muse is waking up again. Thank goodness for that, I thought she had gone for good!

BEAUTIFYING

I don’t know about beautifying, but we will soon be decorating our home for Halloween. I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I find spooky and gothic decoration beautiful. My children and I will dress up in our best Halloween costumes and I will feel beautiful in my witch persona. Happy Halloween!

Chronic Voice Link-Up

I joined the social network for A Chronic Voice because I needed to find people who understand what life is like with chronic illness, people like me. Today I have written a post using the October link-up prompts, to show my experience of living with a chronic pain disorder. Click here to find other blog posts from fellow chronic pain sufferers, or #spoonies as we call ourselves online.
