Well, it is the first edition of #WATWB for 2021 and I would like to say Happy New Year to those who I haven’t spoken with recently. How are you finding it so far?
Here in the UK we are in lockdown again and it feels a bit like Groundhog Day. I am struggling to homeschool my children, with them simply refusing to do the allocated work from their teachers. They are 7 and 10 years old, and there are too many temptations and distractions at home. Besides, I am not a teacher. But we muddle through. I also have my own work to attend to, so I cannot supervise the children for the duration of a school day, five days per week.
Whether you are homeschooling, working from home, going out to work or something in-between, I’m sure you are struggling with mood swings and feelings of helplessness. It is only natural that our mental health should suffer during these trying times. There are ways we can help ourselves to feel better, and they don’t take up a lot of time or money. Here are my suggestions:
1, Online Reiki Meditation Sessions – I am extending an invitation to you. Join me on Facebook at 11am and 4pm on weekdays so that we can sit in the energy of reiki, rest and relax just for 15 minutes. I will share with you the daily precepts, we will sit in quiet contemplation, and I will send distance healing reiki to whoever connects at that time. How does that sound?
2, Find your happy place – I am finding relief from watching my friends film Facebook Live videos during lockdown. Some of them showcase products for sale, some offer tips and hints for self-care and beauty treatment. Others have musical videos, online book clubs, and lots of other activities. Perhaps you could find your friends and join in with some online fun. It makes you feel sociable and you can interact with friends from the safety of your home.
3, Read a book – Lots of local libraries are making books accessible for free online as digital editions and audio books. There are also authors and publishers working together to provide free stories for people who are stuck at home. Check out the website for your local library and see what they have to offer. Books can take you all over the world, remember. I am currently in 19th century Japan reading The Last Concubine, and I love it!
We are the World BlogFest (#WATWB) focuses on positive stories no matter where they’re found. It is all about spreading peace and humanity on social media. All participants post on the last Friday of the month, sharing a positive news story that contributes to making our world a happier, safer, and better place to live.

Homeschooling your children can’t be easy. I love the idea of sharing links to Reiki sessions. Thank you. I’ll check that the time difference doesn’t disturb my sleep and attend if possible.
Thank you. The videos are available any time to suit your time zone 🙂
Fantastic suggestions, I especially like the Reiki meditation sessions! 🙂
Thanks so much for sharing this and for being a part of #WATWB!
Have a wonderful week!
Thank you! 🙂
