Earlier this week I attended a local networking event for small business owners and people who work from home. Called “Jelly Networking,” the idea came from small business owners in America who like to meet up for company and to network their business. It was my first attendance at such an event for a good few years, and I came away feeling energised, encouraged and excited to have met some new people with new ideas. I talked about blogs and books to a fellow digital media professional, I offered blog suggestions to a travel counsellor, and I found someone who might help with a small personal dilemma (Barking Mad).
The venue was Stateside Bar and Kitchen in Northwich, Cheshire. It is a lovely place that I had not been aware of before, mainly because it is located lower down on the High Street, further than I normally venture when I visit the town for shopping. I will recommend it to my mum friends for a possible future night out! Northwich is a lovely town with a vibrant atmosphere, but I have only really approached it for shopping before now. It has the shops that I like to visit, there is a car garage where my husband and I have our tyres fitted, and our dog loves running around on the Flashes. And now I will visit Northwich for networking, as I once again step out from behind my laptop and show myself to the outside world.
