Soothing the Soul on Holiday

My family and I just returned from a lovely week away in Northumberland for our annual summer holiday. We enjoyed the gorgeous sandy beaches of Druridge Bay, and explored as much of the nearby heritage sites as we could fit in. We took a boat trip around the Farne Islands, and we visited the holy island Lindisfarne. It felt wonderful to be close to the sea, to gaze out and smell the salty air, to feel the sand beneath my feet. I even braved the cold water and went paddling in the sea!

Although I didn’t find much time alone to meditate and practise reiki, I did fit in my daily affirmations and called on the energy. Our holiday was intended to help soothe a couple of family members with mental health challenges, and to give all of us a little down time away from domestic and work life. Sometimes you just need to get away from routine, and this holiday was all that we needed to tip the balance back into equilibrium. Summer blessings, my friends!
