Today’s the day! School is officially over for the summer holiday, and I for one am ecstatic. We have experienced a very challenging and emotionally draining year, culminating in a near-fatal illness for my eldest daughter, and the chaos of moving house. Now we have finished the most disruptive renovation projects, namely rewiring the whole house and installing a brand new central heating system, and we can slowly begin the task of planning how to decorate and modernise our new home.

But never mind all of that. It is summer, we are free from the constraints of school for six weeks, and we are gonna enjoy it! We have a fifth birthday to prepare for, a family holiday to Northumberland, and all sorts of other day-trips, outings and social fun to be had. See you in September!
