Mindful Parenting Advice

I am in the process of refreshing and revising the content here on the SpookyMrsGreen blog. There are lots of projects and ideas buzzing around in my mind, and I really don’t know where to start with them. One is the #365DaysofTarot challenge. That hasn’t disappeared. I will produce a book very soon, I promise. But that is for Witchy Wednesdays.

Today is Mummy Monday, and my mind turns to the challenge of calming a hyperactive child. During the past week or so, I have seen my girls come home and transform into whirling dervishes, literally bouncing off the walls and the furniture. Fellow parents, you know what I mean! Now, during my studies in reiki healing and meditation, I have included my daughters in some of the sessions.

During the Christmas holidays they were present when I gave their Grandma a reiki healing treatment at home. They were very good and quiet, and my youngest daughter was curious about the whole process. It got me thinking that perhaps I should focus on doing guided meditations with the children, to help them focus all of that crazy, youthful energy. They have meditated with me before, and I am sure they would do it again. Would you be interested to learn how to meditate with your own children or grandchildren? Do let me know in the comments, and we can work something out.
