Gentle Holiday Cheer

It has been a week since my Grandad passed away. He had been ill for a long time and was in hospital for two weeks before he lost the fight. He lived a good, long, happy life, and is finally at peace. Our family is grieving for his loss, but we feel relief that he will no longer suffer the long, lonely days without his wife, my Nan, who died two years ago. They were devoted to each other, and to their family.

This Christmas weekend has been mostly quiet and peaceful. We visited our family and will take time to catch up with friends while we are away from home for a few days. My children are enjoying some quiet time with me, and I with them. We all received some lovely, thoughtful gifts and Santa was very generous to the children. We are swimming in Lego, and I have no idea how I will transport it home now that we have assembled the intricate play sets. Ah, fun and games! For now I leave you with good wishes for your festive week, whatever you are doing. My husband has returned to work so it is business as usual. Life goes on.
